Prior to spending any money, even on a credit report, ask for a copy of the mortgage contract in advance. They will tell you they are unable to until you apply, but that is crap. They can give you basic details using your city, state and loan type. Amerisave refused to even respond to my request. I talked to Sean Park (Atlanta, GA) who assured me that I would be given every piece of info I wanted prior to starting but then I never heard from him or Amerisave again.
