Yes it is a rotten thing to do, but the government can not protect people from stupidity. There are plenty of warnings out there, from news shows to internet informing people of email, phone and web scams. NO ONE gets my debit information. Anything I want online is charged on an amount limited visa gift card. Don't blame the government. If you buy a TV that doesn't live up to your expectations it isn't the stores fault that you didn't understand what 1080 is from LCD. Educate yourselves. Protect yourselves.
