We received an SMS today advising we were being handed over for failure to make payment on our City of Johannesburg Account. When I called the call centre to query this, as our account is very much up to date, I was to discover that the bill was actually for a property we sold back in 2006 and the sms should have been sent to the new owner. On their system they have all of the new owners details but with our cell phone number - and not the cell phone number we had back in 2006 either!
