In January of 2009 I purchased a Sears Kenmore "Elite" Freezer model # 253.28092801. Last month, the freezer started acting up - it would cool part of the time and then it would stop cooling. I called the Sears repair guy - who was really nice and was told that the electronic control board was bad. These freezers are actually made by Figidaire. The bad part number is 297242003.
