About a month ago I opened a can of slim fast only to find something in my mouth that I had never experienced before with slim fast. There were white lumps of some material that was soft asnd had about the same texture as shortening used in cooking. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place, but I was unable to make any contact with Slim Fast. Today I tried another can from the same package, shaking it very well before opening.
