After our daughter died Lars stopped working started drinking. He ran his own construction company out of our house so we were living comfortably at the time, i didn't have to work and we had plenty in our savings to last us a while so it seemed obvious at the time for Lars to take some time off... months turned to years and our savings started to run dry, so i started work again as an RN.
