I had two certificates of deposit with National City bank, totaling a little more than $50, 000, due to mature Sept. 20, 2011; I also had a tiny checking account that I had allowed to go inactive. In the fall of 2009, National City seems to have declared the CDs as part of the inactive account and sent the amount to the unclaimed property department where I live. There has never been a point when I could not be reached, so there was no reason to consider the accounts as unclaimed property, but no one at PNC is willing to take responsibility... read full review »
