I went on-line looking for the best price for a hotel in downtown Madrid. Received a very official looking voucher in exchange for my credit card information. They were paid in May 2010 for a room I was to have on the night of October 11th. On reaching the hotel, the clerk could not find my reservation. On a hunch, he looked through the canceled reservation file and found a FAXed paper that indicated the reservation had been canceled (it said by the customer, which is a complete lie).
