My husband works with a young guy who is buying a home through Countrywide Mortgage. Because he does not qualify for the loan (reason #1 why this country is in this bad mortgage situation), they advised him to lower his debt (which he will still owe) by getting his car refinanced in someone elses name. This sounds fraudulant to me. The rules and formulas are in place for a reason. If you have to pull a scam to qualify for the loan you obviously cannot afford it.
