Bank refused to cash a $140 check, because I did not have a checking account with them. This despite the fact that the check writer had an account with them, and they have been cashing these checks for years in the past. This time, the branch in Mooresville insisted I open a personal checking account with them, even though we already have a 750k mortgage with them and I was able to provide ID, etc. They say there is "no way" they are allowed to cash a check for me, even though it's been done routinely in the past.
