We purchased a new GE Profile refrigerator in July 2006 based on Consumer Reports recommendation. This units has experienced chronic repititive failures. Initially we were told that an "ice ball kit" had to be installed. Then the motherboard failed. Then another 6 motherboards. Then a thermister. Then another motherboard and all in a span of less than 4 years. Now I'm told that a piece of foam needs to be installed behind the thermister to prevent ice built up.
