This seems to be the same all over the country...they send you a check for varied amounts and ask for you to cash it and send another varied amount back to them in the UK. They were located in Jericho New York at an address that is listed to a company by another name. Do they even know that their address is envoled in a scam? Also do the bank named "Deutsche Bank Trust Company" of Delaware realize they are envolved also? Don't think that good advertising for their bank.
