I was getting error message ( "The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location ------" ) while performing system recovery using Recovery Manager and also using Recovery Disc. On the HP web site HP acknowledges that "When attempting the recovery process, the following error sometimes occurs on dv6500, v6500, dv9500, and later series notebook PCs with an Intel processor: The Recovery Attempt Has Failed."
