Purchased a glass (made in India) Votive candle cup for Christmas. The first candle burned in it was a yankee candle votive. The cup exploded while lit shooting glass shards across the room and spilling hot wax.I never leave candles burning unattended but was nearly shot by glass. Never had a glass cup like this do that? The candle was burning regularly and had not moved toward the side or anything. Very strange but scary. It had a mercury glass surface on the inside and may have caused the heat to focus in one area?
