I've been reading on this website about the problem with Scion tC trunk handle panels breaking off, after mine did the day after Christmas while visiting friends in my hometown. It was a cold evening, and when I pressed on the handle latch the whole panel came off and was hanging from the back. It was too cold for me to tinker with it in the parking lot of a pub late in the evening, and I've since duct-taped the thing to the back of my car.
