I signed up for a GE Money credit card on July 10, 2010 at a Hunter Douglas window covering store. I have been making regular payments on the $5, 520.72 that I borrowed. I had $500 left on 1/13/11 when the protional period expired. I knew that the $500 would get charged 29.99% interest but I planned to pay it off at the end of January. I had no idea that I would get charged 29.99% deferred interest for the past six months on the entire $5, 520.72. I have never heard of credit cards like that.
