Eliot Management fast-talked me into buying a nonreturnable $600 credit card charging machine, leading me to believe that that would be the only cost to me of taking credit card payments except for 1 to 2 percent on each transaction. Turns out there are actually another $55/month in costs, $610/year, plus when I went to cancel I found I was according to them on a three-year contract (that would be $1830) with a $495 cancellation fee. I've turned it over to my lawyer but EM had me sign (which I stupidly did) an 18-page small-print contract, who knows what weirdness is in there. . anyway avoid them if you can!!
