I worked at the Head Office of The Works Bookshops for 10 years and then in November 2007 I was made redundant. They claimed that the department I was working in was over-staffed. Even though they had just taken on a new member of staff one month before in the same department. It seems to me that they did not want me to have the benefits that went with working at The Works for 10 years. They just want to keep these benefits for the management member of staff.
