I, too, had an unwelcome encounter with Certegy declining a check I had written to Macy's. Plenty of $$ in the account, no fraud flags, no negative reports. I was actually told that Certegy would not tell me the basis for the decline, but that I had engaged in "suspicious activity" (writing checks) and that they existed to protect ME! I don't remember hiring Certegy to do anything on my behalf.
