If you live in Maine, you've seen the ads for Marden's. You know the lady I'm talking about - a loud, obnoxious stereotype. "Ayuh, can't wait to git ta Mahden's to do ma shoppin while ma husband waits in the cah. I'm spendin ma whole vacation at Mahden's, ayuh!" I shudder to think of the conclusions the tourists draw about Maine women after seeing these ads. They must think we're all incoherent, low-class morons with bad teeth and worse hair who care only about shopping for useless crap in a filthy, understaffed rathole of a store. read full review »
