I received a check (it looks real) issued to me for the amount of $4970.00. With it, is a letter from All State Financial that I have won a 'Consumer Promotion Draw, ' for the amount of $250, 000.00. However, because I am a non-resident of Canada, I must pay Canadian tax of $3970.00 to receive the remainder of funds. Because of that, they have sent me the check, so that I can use it for this purpose. As others have stated, if it is legit, why don't they just keep the tax initially and pay the remainder.
