I purchased renewal software yesterday, installed it according to directions, and then ran it. All indications were fine except it said my computer was at risk. No diagnostics, no explanation, nothing, just AT RISK! I called support who diagnosed a VIRUS by asking me to read off Task Manager numbers. When I asked what to do, person suggested checking EVERY SINGLE file for virus extension OR paying $99.99 to have Norton technician diagnose and fix. This was either incompetence or a scam. Have had the worst experience with Comcast Xfinity triple play service. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH THEM!!! 1. Signed me up for service but no cable connection available to the home 2. After 2 months of going back and forth, dug up my driveway and brought cable to the doorstep 3. Sales person promised me (by email) AnyRoom HD DVR for $10/ month with no equipment/installation fees. Installed non-HD boxes when they came out. After I complained, came out to fix, but started charging me $27/month and $56 for a host of installation and equipment fees 4. The Sims 3 for the Wii console is horrible. The graphics are horrid and the game takes my Wii so long to think that it freezes up. The sims get stuck on the couch and you cant get them off until they decide they want up. You can't build a house, which was my favorite part. The choices for the appearance are nothing compared to the PC version. Bought the full blown version of AVG and the thing completely stops the whole computer while it is scanning - will completely disrupt everything when it decides all by itself to come on. I do a normal scan every few days with updates all along but this thing will come on all by itself when I am using the computer - everything locks up and I loose all. No help nor real contact info from AVG or help. Now the cumbersome scan is something that can only be identified by a swirling bar in the task bar icon (maybe a rootkit scan) - not your regular scan and by the way I do cut off my computer every day. read full review »
