Overdraft Fees
So I have overdraft protection set up such that if I overdraft on my checking account it automatically takes money from my BOA credit card.

When an overdraft occurs, not only do they take service charges on both the checking account and the credit card account, take interest on the amount transferred from the credit card as a cash advance, but get this, the service charge on the card is NOT flat, it's 3 or 4% (the account person Marcus and the supervisor Shaunda couldn't seem to be consistent on the issue). What a serious rip off.

I'll be seriously considering moving all my business to another bank.

Short sale incompetence
I took us almost a year from time of listing our old home last year in May 2009 to go to settlement. We found our dream house in January 2010 and then found out it was a short sale (I wanted no parts of a SS!). However... it really is our DREAM house so we made an offer and signed contract of sale 1/22/2010 putting $10, 000 into escrow. We know the market very well and offered a very fair price... not a lowball offer... and it was based on local comps. GMAC was the first mortgage holder. They agreed to the sale right away. Turns out that the second mortgage holder was Bank of America...you can guess the rest. Like Whitney, we have been in limbo the past 4 months. We went ahead and closed on our old home 3/31/10 and moved into "corporate housing" locally. Corporate housing is where they charge you double for a month-to-month lease. We did this for several reasons: 1) allow the sale to go through on our old house, and 2) have a place to stay while BOA goes through their dance. We found out today that they want to close on 7/8/10...one week after the $6500 tax credit expires! So far, we are on the hook for $3000 for 3/4 pt to extend our mortgage rate lock (5.125%) ANOTHER 30 days, $3500 in storage carrying costs for our worldly goods, $1500 for the "extra" move (because we will have to move twice), will lose out on our deductions at next year's tax season since we're not paying mortgage interest for past few months, not to mention the pain of living in a tiny apartment while waiting for our new digs which will be an amazing 4 times the size. We're living in limbo and ask ourselves everyday why BOA has to treat nice normal buyers, who are paying fair market price in our area for this house, with such indifference. We are not the Seller. We did not make this frivolous loan of $150, 000 (second mortgage) on top of a massive first mortgage (yes, the internet has amazing info available if you dig a little!) to someone who was overextended. The Seller is a nice man caught in a bind, and we are the solution for him. At this point, we are waiting to hear back from the Listing Agent if BOA will budge on settlement date. The house does need some work and the $6500 would really come in handy for the repairs.

CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS
I have a mortgage with Bank of America. I originally purchased my home with my bf. We split, and I did a qualified assumption, releasing him of all liability, and re-closed on my home. Three years later, Bank of America reverted my mortgage back to it's original state, with my ex boyfriend on it! They have no explanation and their customer service was horredous. I am suing them, as I dont have a accurate account or mortgage right now.
Check your mortgage. I would not even of known this if I didnt go online and try to pay my mortgage. I found I was locked out because it was under my ex's name and identity.
Bank of America needs to get shut down!

Home Modification Loan Program
Hi- We're like every working family in America trying to acquire Home Modification Loan from Bank of America. How many of you have tried to get your home loan modified only to be taken for a "ride" through different departments? We have been trying to get this done over the past 14 months only to be given the same excuses over and over again. As well, you're not even talking to someone from America. What the hell is wrong with Bank of America? I am sure other banking institutions and lending institutions from around the country are doing the same thing to innocent, hard working, honest Americans who just want to make sure they take advantage of "All programs" afforded to them. Is that too much to ask for? Tell me if this is something that all of you have gone through:

Filled out paperwork 3 times faxed over a copy and sent over 2 hard copies just to be told that particular department doesn't have your paperwork?
Your given a packet that tells you to return the signed copies and an answer will come in 10 business days, but it has been 3 months waiting for an answer!!!
Where and When does the american people have the right to say to big name corporation, enough already and get your "S" together. We have done everything that Bank of America has asked us to do, but no answers to our home modification loan has come. What can be done?? Any answers appreciated.

Mortgage escrow
For the third time, Bank of America has "forgotten" to pay the real estate taxes and insurance on a mortgage that they service and for which they have a hefty escrow balance. What happens is that
(1) we receive the notice that our insurance is expiring and/or our real estate taxes are in default, (2) we have to call Bank of America and suffer through endless "push button " (for which escrow issues is not an option) and bad music, to inform them that they forgot to pay. In two of the cases, we had to FAX the bills to them, and in the most recent case (after an hour on the phone) they said that they will straighten it out without our faxing things in (we'll wait and see). Each time, they blame the problem on the County tax office and the insurance company, but this never happened with the same parties on our previous loan with BofA. The County states that BofA has not done what they need to do as a loan servicor with an escrow obligation.

We are resigned to the fact that they have a glitch in their system and cannot handle the escrow payments. I am looking forward to paying off the loan so that we can make these payments directly.

In our last call, the customer service agent mentioned that they had merged servicing systems with Countrywide and that this may have caused the confusion. The timing of our difficulties matches the Countrywide merger. While I can understand the confusion, if you have a business system with a terrible glitch and you fail to correct it, it is bad business. Once, I can understand. Twice, I wonder why they don't fix things. Three times? Bad business.

While I have had BofA mortgages for over 30 years, if I need another mortgage I will look elsewhere.

BAC Home Loans Serviving, LP
Bank of America sold (?) our mortgage to BAC. Soon thereafter received a letter stating that we had to have flood insurance or secure a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) from FEMA.

Long story short, after jumping thru all of FEMA's hoops and many dollars later, we received certified LOMA and sent it to BAC flood dispute dept. in early April. The only phone number provided was to insurance dept. which I have called frequently. The Loan Dispute Dept. has NO telephone or email. Thus they cannot be contacted. Supervisors in insurance dept. DO NOT accept incoming calls. The representative have to email supervisors to request they call the consumer. The supervisors DO NOT CALL. There is no website for BAC!! One must wonder if this a legitimate company. And, further, when you call the insurance dept. number, the recorded voice simply says 'thank you for calling insurance dept'...no mention of BAC!!!

BoA reduced my line of credit on my home from 75K to 32K which is what I owed
BoA reduced my line of credit on my home from 75K to 32K which is what I owed. Then they reduced my business card to 20K to what I owed, then a card that I have had since 1999 went from a 61K line to a 42K on 11-24 and I had paid them 24K in the month of Nov alone, they reduced it again 11-30 to the 25K that I owe. I am done with BoA and closing all my accounts and finding me a bank that cares about me the consumer who had a FICO of 790 and now 720 thanks to them lower all my credit lines. They should be put out of business instead of us taxpayers bailing their dumb asses out...

Tired of fighting
My family was set up great we had no credit card debt and had bought a house and made higher payments to them then what was due. In 2007 my nephew was living with us and broke his ankle "he was under age, had no insurance and his parents would not sign papers so we could put him on ours" a couple months after that my 10 month old son was taken by flight for life. Then I had a surgery that led to many more hospital stays and a lot more sickness. All of a sudden we were in major credit card debt and completely broke. Gas at the time was $5 and $6 a gallon and the hospitals are all over 100 miles away. We fell behind when all the bills caught up with us come Aug of 09 I called Bank of America and they suggested a loan modification. So after all the paperwork and the hardship letter was sent I received a letter stating that it would be settled in 30 to 45 days. Come Dec my home was up for foreclosure and when I called them they put an extension on it and kept doing so. When I spoke to there customer service people "I called them every week and sometimes more then that. I was told to make payments to them and it would look better and help the modification go through so I sent in my first payment on Dec 1 2009, they sent my check back attached to a piece of paper stating that it is below the amount due so they would not accept my payment, I called them and the girl on the line says to me No don’t make payments. Sooooo I stopped then in March of 2010 I receive final loan modification papers, sign them, and send them in, along with a certified check as stated in the letter. Today I received the check back with the letters stamped on it, so again I called and was told I don’t know the girl said to me that they did not know where the money was supposed to go, and she left a message to RACHEAL THOMAS my processer who has never returned a call, e-mail from me my modification company that i hired to help me or to Mrs. Farmer from my senators office. I hate the fact that I paid to bail them out and when I need them they are no help and full of excuses I found out that my home is still in foreclosure and I may lose it because some bureaucrats are sitting on there thumbs. I am not a bad person; I have never had a late payment to them EVER until all this stuff happened. I am trying soooo hard to keep my home and am getting sick because of the stress. The biggest excuse they always tell me is that they have to many people trying to get a modification at this time, my solution HIGHER MORE PEOPLE
