Loan pre-approval then denied
I am trying to buy my first home. I received pre-approval for a loan through Bank of America. I made my offer on a home. Put down ernest money, paid for a home inspection and $500 for the loan application. Jumped through many home mortgage hoops only to be denied the loan through Bank of America after I received pre-approval. Is this the new bank scam? Pre approve you then steal your application laon fee? Comsumer BEWARE of BANK of AMERICA mortgage pre-approval SCAM!

Mortgage Loan
I have probably had the poorest customer service experience of my life with Bank of America which has continued for the last two months. They lost my mortgage check, told me to put a stop pay, then found it over a month later and attempted to cash. I was charged for a stop pay and they have not reimbursed. They promised to take of late charge, and would not. They even had a copy of the check that was lost in processing.

I faxed them paperwork three times that they said they were processing. The last time I called, a rep said someone dropped the ball and he realized that it was processed wrong, so I needed to fax recent information again. They said it would be another 45 days. I received conflicting information from multifple customer service reps. i even have proof from a loan officer who was on the conference call. It's pathetic. I can never speak to the same person, because they won't let you. I waited on hold for hours only to be transferred five times. I am not exagerating. My friends and family will be cancelling all cards . If I could move my mortgage, I would.

This is the worst bank in history!! Don't bank there!!!

OVER DRAFT FEES
THE WAY THEY POSTED THE TRANSACTIONS IN ORDER FOR YOUR ACCOUNT TO BE OVERDRAWN.. THIS HAPPENED TO ME FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS, MY DEPOSITS WERE NEVER ENOUGH NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE PUT IN OUR ACCOUNT, THEY ALWAY MOVED THE TRANSACTIONS AROUND SO THAT IT WOULD BE OVERDRAWN.

checking account/savings account
I have a checking and savings with this bank with direct deposit of my pay check. They received my pay and charges at the sametime resulting in a $1.04 deficit. They charged my account over $105.00 in overdraft fees!
I've seen other posts here and realize this is a very common occurance. They are absolutely correct in the this bank is a SCAM! I am closing my account immediately and recommend everyone else to do the same!!!

Wont help Rescue Mortgages
I have a "Fannie Mae" mortgage managed by Bank of America,
they will not even speak with me about mitgation of my mortgage, to help rescue it from foreclosure. I have called them no less the six times and spent hours trying to reach their mitgation dept to no avail. I thought the government gave the banks money to help rescue mortgages which are severely unside down and in imminent danger of going into foreclosure...BOA is cheating us citizens of the recovery money from the government.

was told something that was not true
This is a personal account. My account was stolen on july 27, 2009 I reported this on July 27, 2009 to Bank of America, I ask can my account be closed they told me no". There reason is we don't have to close your account we can just send you a knew card, never recieve a card, so on July 31, 2009 I went into the branch in Silver spring and told them what was going on they told me to open a new account I did, first I ask them what ever I put into my new account will not interfer with the old account, they told me "no it will be ok trust us" so I did, now I am frustraed because I belive in them and there staff. My money was taking from my new account and put into my old account account which should have never happen. I was told by the bank itself and the staff on the phone that this would not happen, My account is negative due to fraud, also I have sent them the police claim # and they are telling me that my case is denied please explain that to me.I fill this is unfair to me and unexceptable behavier from BOA.

Interest rate increase
I am writing to complain about the practices of Bank of America. My husband had a stroke almost 4 years ago and during his recovery we accumulated some credit card debt. We were approached by Bank of America with the offer of a balance transfer for lower interest rate which we took. We both have good jobs and have not missed any payments. This July we did not received a bill and posted a late payments as soon as we realized we had missed the due date. Although we understand that we are ultimately responsible, we expected to pay a late fee and move on. Bank of America, however, had different intentions. They raised our rate from 8.9% to 29.9% and last month we paid over $400.00 in interest fees alone. We received a letter from Bank of America letting us know that they would be offering us 3 options:
1- Work with us to reduce our payment
2- Expand time of repayment
3- Debt consolidation
When we called them, they refused to lower our rate, and told us that the only option available was debt consolidation through their trusted debt consolidation agency. This would entail to close all our credit accounts, transfer our debt to their preferred debt consolidator and not be allowed to use any other credit.
In addition, Bank of America has reported us to Equifax – making it impossible for us to transfer our debt to another account.
Had we stayed at 8.9%, we would have continued to pay our account without any problems, however, Bank of America has put our family in a situation of great hardship. So far we are paying their required high interest monthly payment and yet they still won’t consider anything else. We refuse the debt consolidation because we consider transferring our debt to a company we no longer trust absurd - Bank of America is behaving like a loan shark and seeking monopoly over our situation. We have other credit cards and do not have any problems with them.
This happened a week before the new law was passed to protect consumers against such predatory behavior. Interesting enough, second time we called they had changed their greeting to: “If you did not received a bill, you still responsible for paying it on time”- by that I assume that we are not the only ones that did not receive a bill in the month of July. I truly believe we fell victims of a scam.

Ripping me off more than $3500. in Over draft charges
I thought that I muct be the most inept person on the planet to not be able to balance a checking account. This bank has literally robbed me. A company put a payment through my account for $500. and I filed a claim to their check fraud dept. and Norma (the person in charge of my claim) Indicated that it was not a bank error nor is it illegal for a company that has your banking info to use it and take any amount of payment!!! I was shocked. But that one cost me about 800. in fees. To make a long story short, It has happened several times, I have stopped payment on these items and BofA still allows them to go thru and when they do they steal so much money in overdraft fees it has now reached almost $4 thousand dollars. I cannot close my account because it has to be at a zero balance and everytime I get it to zero, some other fee or payment goes thru that night and not only does it not close it is usually up to another $300. or more the next day. I have literally been trying to close this account. I have called so many times and talked to every person there that will listen, praying that I find one person that will help me either freeeze my account or close it. But its been over 4 months and I am not back up to negative $754. and I just put in a thousand dollar payment friday and I promise, everybit plus $754. has gone to overdraft fees. I think this bank is literally stealing from me!!! I have the biggest resentment and I have never felt more violated by anyone, let alone a BANK. I have transferred my direct deposits but the account just continues to grow and I owe everywhere fees and payments since they returned every payment and check I should have been able to pay no problem. I have literally cried on the phone and when I get off the phone with them more than 5 times. I just don't know what I can do????
