Mortgage
Their mortgage department is the worst in the industry. Bait and switch, finance the house for a payment of $1650 then raise it to $2359 in less than one year due to escrow issues. Then, to add insult to injury, demand $2153 in two weeks or begin forclosure due to a property tax increase. All this in 15 months. I recommend your local load shark over Chase. I have a 7% fixed FHA mortgage and I am putting up with this??? But, hey, we are paying for all the banks mistakes with our taxes so they really don't care if we let them foreclose or not. I am not really concerned about what a bank executive makes, so Congress, why don't you actually do something that will benefit us tax payors and regulate these banks so they cannot get away with this stuff.

$1000 loan payoff fee
Chase included in the payoff amount that they gave to the attorney handling my refinance a $1000 payoff fee though in my loan documents, only actual recording fees paid to 3rd parties are allowed to be charged. The attorney did not inform me of this prior to close and it was only upon reconciling my balances in quicken that I realized what had happened. Does anyone know if this is legal and how to fight it? Thanks-

Monthly Payment
Chase took over my mortgage account back in 2006, every since then...there has been nothing but problems. First, when they purchased the loan from the first lender they entered the incorrect address. My street address is 4700 and they entered 7700 in the system. I called them several times regarding this issue because I was having problems proving where I lived! They stated it was not their error and I needed to contact the closing agency. I went back and fort I know for 4 months until it was corrected. Secondly, I made a payment with a check over the phone, the rep entered a wrong number from my check and they returned my check and charged me a late fee.! Thirdly, I made a payment over the phone for one months payment and they debited my account twice. Not only did they take the money out twice, I received several nsf fees and they cont to try to debit that same amount out of my account. It was their error, but now I am having to pay the cost because I have yet to receive the refunds for my nsf fee's that were assessed for their error AND they are still trying get the money out of my account that I never authorized! The customer services sucks. I get different answers everytime I call and they are rude. Now I have to change checking accounts just to stop that withdrawel because it's taking them longer than expected to correct the error. I feel there is nothing to research because it was not my error it was theirs! I did not authorize for them to debit my account for 2 payments! And I can't dispute the transaction with the bank because they return the item each time because of the lack of funds. So I am negative in my account and still assessing more fees... Not to mention I am broke. I don't even have money to put gas in my car! They are taking all I have and I don't even owe them anything!

Mis-informed of total refinance costs
I called Chase Mortgage to see about refinancing and the loan officer told me in order to lock in a rate I had to pay a $750 non refundable application fee. I said I have been a Chase customer with my current loan and always on time for its entirety and never heard of such a thing as a non refundable application fee. He said I would get that credired at closing. I asked what my total refinance cost would be and he told me. It seemed to work with what I would save a month so I said okay. The actual paper work of the application showed up and the loan officer had failed to tell me about all the other costs. Now it would be double what he told me on the phone. So, I called and e-mailed saying I was not going to put in the application and not going to sign anything. Please refund my $750. Despite emails to him and his supervisors above they have not responded nor credited me my $750. Looks like Chase is at it again. Has anyone else been getting duped?

Incompetence
I am a realtor. I was contacted by a couple who had a variable loan on a home financed by Chase. The husband had become disabled and their house had become uninhabitable. It had TONS of city violations on it and it is in horrible condition. The amount they owed was more than the house was worth. I put it on the market and got a couple of short sale offers. This was in June 2008. I spent hours and hours working on paperwork only to find that each of the 14 times (yes, I have proof) that I faxed Chase, they denied they ever got it or would give me a COMPLETELY different place to fax it to. They would also ask for an additional piece of information. Three faxes ago, I faxed 64 pages! I had to stand at the fax machine and fax it in two parts as the memory would not accomodate that. Each time I called, I was given the run around or they told me that I needed to call another number. I called one day four times and was put on hold for 45 minutes each time and then hung up on! DELIBERATELY. I would hear them pick up and then CLICK! They finally sent someone out to do a BPO. I arranged to get them in and again called for WEEKS afterward. When I finally got thru to the assigned negotiator, he told me that I would have to wait for another week for them to do a internal revalue. I called him back and he told me that they were rejecting the cash offer contracts that I submitted and countered with an amount that was not only ridiculous, it was higher by $20, 000 than what homes were selling for in that area! So now, after more than 5 months of work at MY expense, Chase is going to allow it to go into foreclosure. It will be assigned to another real estate agent who will spend months just like I did trying to get offers only to find out that they will get less than the offers I currently have in hand. It will cost Chase (and their investors) more money and they will end up with an offer no more than the current ones I submitted as the house is a train wreck! I will bet the investors in Chase would feel real good about their investment if they knew that Chase was sitting on homes that could have been sold except for the fact that thay have disorganized, unprofessional and people handling their affairs. NEVER AGAIN will I attempt to involve myself in a short sale if Chase is involved NOR will I ever take out a loan from Chase NOR recommend them.
