DISRESPECTEDANDANNOYED February 13, 2011
Disrespected By Manager
I just bought my first HD tv and was excited to come home and call Dish to upgrade my DVR service. I was told that I had to pay 500. I was told that I have to actually BUY the receiver, not just lease like I currently do. I asked if there were any other options as I was already planning to cancel my account due to previous customer service experiences that SUCKED. The CSR was uninformed and I asked to speak to his manager. His manager was rude and disrespectful. He even went as far as to call me delusional and asked me what I was smoking. I could NOT believe what I had heard. I asked if our call was being recorded and he let me know that he was making his own notes about our call in the system. I asked if this was going to become a he said/she said and he responded OF COURSE! I was dumbfounded. He would not give me his supervisors name and proceeded to end the call.
I immediately called to report the situation and was told that he had access to delete our recorded call, however, that there would still be a record available to be reviewed. Hopefully that is correct as the issue was supposed to have been escalated to the Executive Resolutions Team. I was told that I can call to follow up in the morning.
I will post again IF there is a resolution but I'm not holding my breath.
I HATE DISH NETWORK CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

house call
we have a bedroom we have tried to get service to we bought a box and pay $10.00 more a month for service we have yet to recive he have called the tech line for help mulipul times yet they could never figure it out so then they told us we needed someone to come out to our house this is when the real trouble begain at first the said he would be at the house sometime between 8 am an 12pm well this guy never showed we tried callin repetedly and they had lied about everything frist they said they tried calling when i asked for the number they called they read back a number i have never had even thought they called me the day before remind me of the service call because of this i am cancelling my dish netwrok service and encourge others to do so as well

daily phone calls
Have no address to mail payment to these people. I do not want to talk to them on the phone as I feel they are insipid, they raise my already high blood and anger me to the point of yelling at them.

Working for them
They are breaking OSHA laws by making techs work in to cold of weather, wind over 40 miles an hour on ladders in, thunder storms. Plus making them work 10 to 14 hours then drive back to the shop and get 3 to 4 hours of sleep and told to come back in or get fired. Dish Network says they push safety, but really as long as the customers sees a face they don't care about peoples safety. Well i could go on on but OSHA needs to look into dish network safety.

billing
Dish Network is nothing but to suck money out of consumers in the name of prviding entertainment, Their prices keep going up arbitrarily and if you call them, they are not willing to listen but keep on repeting their point.I started by monthly plan with 19.99/month and within 6 months, they went up to $44.99-- no increase in package, actually a decrease.

HIDDEN CHARGES
WARNING!!! THERE IS A NON REFUNDABLE $50 CREDIT CHECK FEE FOR INSTALLATION. WARNING #2: They have inexperienced installers who can't seem to work off of existing cables and holes. Not compatible with Direct TV cables. Therefore additional holes and wiring are necessary.

CONTRACT TERMS ORIGIONALLY WHERE SET FROM TWELVE MONTHS YOU WANT TO CHAGE IT TO SIX MONTHS AND INCREASE MONTHLY PACKAGE BY FIVE DOLLARS. IT'S OUR BELEIF THAT YOU WON'T HONNER THE FIRST CONTACT YOU WONT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE NEW CONTRACT YOU'RE PROPOSING NOW. WE WILL CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUEREAL. WE FEEL YOU'VE BROKEN OUR TRUST IN YOUR COMPANY.

Extended Warranty Fraud Charges
I had Dish Network set on monthly auto pay through my credit card for the last 2 yrs. Suddenly on Jan 2011 statement I noticed as increase in my bill by $6.00. After discussion with the Dish network customer service I found out that they started charging me the $6.00 for extended warranty on equipment since Nov.2010 without my authorization. I asked them to cancel the extended warranty and credit my account but that would cost me $25.00 to cancel the extended warranty. They offered me $5.00 credit for the next 6 months. The charge for cancellation would be $25.00 + $18.00 = $43 subtract $30 credit, that still leaves me a charge of $13.00. They will not issue credit for that amount.

Folks if you have auto pay check your bill for fraudulent charges..

very bad internet service
We have Wildblue host provider through Dish Network and to call it absolutely horrible would be an understatement!!! First of all, the sales rep neglected to mention how awful this service is but all the techs we've had to check out the speed tell us that this is the worst internet service and to avoid it if possible. The service is as slow or slower than dial up and I'm expected to pay $50 a month for service I could get for $10 a month. I tried to cancel the service but, of course, it is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to rid myself of this rip off service. We have had service techs out here 3 times and still no satisfaction. They neither will let us cancel without a large cost or offered any upgrade remedy to try and redeem themselves. Also, I was unaware that if I didn't sign up for auto pay billing I will be paying full price for the service and not eligible for the promotions. I wasn't offered an agreement in writing, instead they hurriedly went over parts of the agreement on the phone with me and had me agree as a signature. Why is this company able to continue it's deceptive practices on the public?

Unethical Business Practices
On 1/4/2011 I was offered Dish Network service from a retail representative that made false claims and used unethical business practices stating that they could cancel my Direct Tv service without having to pay the early disconnect fee. This was all not true. WhnenI called Dish to report that they were using a company that had an F Better Business rating and was making false claims to get the Dish contract signed they refused to make any amends. I told them I was now getting billed from both companies and that they needed to accept responsibility for taking service calls from this retailer. They said that I had signed the contract and would have to pay a $450 disconnect fee if I canceled ( it has not been 30 days yet).
Dish Netwokrk could care less how they get their cash from us and is willing to continue to use known retailers that are scamming people out of thier savings by making false claims.
Somehow this has to stop. Whose service do I cancel? The honest folks at Direct Tv at @ $250 or Dish Network @ $450 and then Sirion Satellite with thier disconnect fee of $300. Really? Boy did I get taken by Dish Network and thier scam artist company Sirion Satellite.
Stay far away from Dish. They are crooks all the way. Everyone told me to stay away from them but I just couldn't listen.
I do have my contract that states that Sirion would cancel my Direct TV. Dish acted as though they had never heard of them and even told me that they could only take incoming calls so they could not get a hold of the retailers. Seriously? 2a455
