Unauthorized charge
Seems that I am in with a lot of others who have had problems with Google Treasure Chest. I DID read the notice and I DID cancel within 7 days and still was charged the $72.21. First I called back and told them this, they said they would refund. 10 business later, nothing. Called again. "Oh, there was an error, we'll reprocess"; 10 business days later, nothing. I called again. They had the address of Google Treasure Chest but no phone number. It appears every phone number listed for them are third party call centers. I am having my bank put in a fraudulant charge claim. AND I AM GOING TO COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN EVERY WHERE I CAN.

Adding other Services
I too was interested so I ordered the CD for $1.97. I was advised that after I rec'd my CD, and after a free trial of seven days I could cancel. I never rec'd the CD and $72 was taken from my credit card.
I am writing this because I cancelled today and was told that by obtaining their services I was automatically enrolled in two other services. He could cancel one for me but not the other. The other was something called Grant Spring 1-888-247-2155. When I called they wouldn't tell me anything but did give me a cancellation number. I asked what they did and she said you cancelled your service with us so I can't talk to you.
This is awful and yes I was a fool.

FRAUDULENT CHARGES
FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON MY DEBIT CARD. $72.71 PLUS A SERVICE FEE OF $1.44 wHEN YOU CALL THE PHONE NUMBER ATTACHED TO THIS CHARGE YOU HEAR MUSIC FOR OVER 2 HOURS NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE.

Charged my account 72.21. Called and was given a cancellation # but was charged anyway. Called again and was tole I would have to write to Parent company for refund. Filed a claim with my bank. Waiting to see what happens next.

I was charged by google treasure chest without knowledge or authorization. If they do not refund the money we will be filing a lawsuit

Absolute scam
I was also ripped off for 72.21. Just came from my bank, had to cancel my card.
Not only is it a scam, But the CD they sent me is full of Viruses.
DO NOT PUT THE GOOGLE TREASURE CHEST CD INTO YOUR COMPUTER!!! It has several Trojan Horse type viruses that will try to steal your personal information, and you will likely get burned again.

On 4/29/2009 I also encountered the same situation happen to me. I received a call from GOOGLE TREASURE CHEST to work from home which I only authorize a payment for the amount of $3.88 for the delivery of the disk WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED and on 5/15/09 I checked my bank account and I had an unauthorized charge of $72.21 made to my account and made my account overdraft. I have made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I demand my refund upon effective immediately. Their customer service are rude and have no professionalism skills and they're a scam.

Unauthorized purchase
WOW, this is unbelievable. How can this website get away with this. I am shocked to read how many other unauthorized payments have been taken. My banker told me an odd payment was coming out of $72.21, going to Google Treasure Chest. I never even heard of it. Funny how the phone number connected to the Google listed on my online banking could only cancel my membership, not issue me a refund. She ended up giving me an address and customer service number for another call center in Jackson, WY. He said the only way to receive a refund is to send back the cd. WHAT CD, I NEVER RECEIVED ONE TO BEGIN WITH. He also would not repeat my address to me, he said he could only verify it. I asked him to overnight me another cd, he said only US Mail. THIS HAS GOT TO BE STOP. LOOK HOW MAY PEOPLE JUST HERE MAKING COMPLAINTS ARE OUT $72.21, plus a Foreign ATM charge of $2.02.

As just one of many who have been scammed by this, I just wanted to add a comment. I did not even get the information download I paid 99 cents for - let alone a disc. When the other charge of 72.21 plus currency exchange showed up on our credit card as Google Chest, I didn't even know what that was, since I had never successfully received any info. When we contacted our credit card company, they were the ones who told us what had happened and gave us a number to call to have it cancelled and the charge reversed. It seems they have had a LOT of these fraudulent charges going through to unsuspecting customers. Just one or two complaints could be considered a misunderstanding, but multitudes constitute fraud. Incidentally, I have not been able to get an answer at the phone number provided - during regular business hours. Has anyone had any success in getting this cancelled?
