Scam artist
I was charged for three months $19.95 after looking up one phone number for $4.99. They said I signed up for a monthly 100 checks for the $19.95?? Who does that?? 100 checks a month??? really??? In the end no refund??? Scam artist at its finest...
I only wanted to find a friend back in December, and now in Februaery I notice that they are still charging me a $19.95 fee? They are idiots, and I recommend that you tell everyone that you know about this companys shady tactics. How is it that they are not under investigation??? If you rob someone on the street you will most likely go to jail...

unresponsive
Intelius has been unresponsive to my request to remove my personal information from their website. They request "verification" of said personal information, but provide no guarantees they won't just use this verification to further harrass me and invade my privacy. Careful - this is likely a scam!!!

Scam
Tried to get a background check on a person. Not looking for anything serious, but just whether the 'story' I was told would hold up (addresses, employers, etc.).
I am not pissed that Intelius did not have this information. I am pissed that led me to believe they had this information.
I clearly clicked on the person I wanted the information on. Instead I got a report on folks that I have no interest in, nothing on the person in question.
Scamming 25 bucks off of someone for any reason is criminal. When will these people be stopped? It's scam, clearly out in the open...

Scam
Intelius is a SCAM. I just discovered they have been charging my card 9.95 for the past 5 months and I never signed up for there service. I called and made a complaint and she said all she could refund was 2 months. I will not stop harassing, posting, blogging and will even bring them to court if I have to. I will not rest until I get all of my money back and either shoudl anyone else. After all the reviews I have seen I cannot believe that they are getting away with this. The woman on the phone was rude and told me that her manager does not speak to customers and had the nerve to also say that her agents do not make mistakes. UNBELIEVABLE!

Bogus information provided
Investigators in my firm use Intelius at times. We have found that Intelius rarely has
up to date or accurate information on the owner of a given phone number. This inaccurate information has thrown investigators off track, put them on the wrong track
and created weeks or months of additional investigation. Although their reverse phone
search ads give you the impression you will get a name, address etc., that seldom happens. They appeare to be getting more and more blatent. Here is what they provided
on several recent reverse phone searches. 1. The oowner of the phone was MALE. 2. the
owner of the phone was female. 3. The owner of the phone is in Ohio 4. The owner of the phone is from Dayton. Of course our credit card was charged $4.99 for each of these
useless tidbits of information. These comments are in regard to reverse phone search only, but if their practices with reverse phone search are any indication, anything they are offering is questionable

Rip off
Like others have mentioned, intelius pad their charges and my $6.95 purchase turned about to be $26.95 (they tacked on an additional $19.95). Plus the information was not current and their were no phone numbers (as they has stated there were).
If you need a background done use someone else or pay close attention to your bank statement! These guys are thieves! Paying someone else a little more may insure that you won't get billed extra like I did. Also, since the information I requested was old, the search was for nothing. Beware of this company!

Unauthorized Charges
I have been fighting with these folks for almost a year...they have defrauded my account for at least a year. WHEN I called them and requested a refund they indicated they could only authorize 1 Month.
I will be taking them to small claims court. I also notice that there is a Class Action suit against them but they know the Legal system and by the time the Judge grants a settlement They will be broke. [email protected] |

unauthorized billing
The above mentioned company started billing me some months ago. I did not request their services as far as I can remember. I had a hacker destroy my email, but this billing was going on before this. I am completely confused and want this billing stopped. HELP!!

I was another unfortunate person ripped off
Sad story, I'm 24 years old my father abandoned my sister and I when we were little girls. For some reason I wanted to use this website to find him... Well I did find out he has a huge criminal record and is a low life- so him not being in our lives has obviously been a blessing. Anyways, this website has ripped me off and charged me 19.99 twice in one month, and multiple other fees. They have made it impossible for me to cancel. This is fraud and something needs to be done, what a scam. :( I thought there was a one time fee but I keep getting charged and my bank account keeps going negative and I get over draft fees which I cannot afford because of this company... These people are cold hearted and have no business running such a site.

Scam
I thought I was looking up a number for 95 cents instead they charged me $19.95 for a membership and another $19.95 for identity protection. I did not authorize any of this and they will not refund my money. When I called to to deny purchasing, Intelius would not refund my money and then got very defensive when I asked them if this was a scam. Now I am out forty dollars for looking up one phone number. Visa would help me either. This company is a scam. BEWARE I am going to report them to my state's attorney general's office. That probably won't work either.
