unauthorized credit card charge
BEWARE! Check your credit card bills very carefully. You may be charged for Magic Jack without ever ordering it! That is what happened to us---we were charged for 4 months before noticing it. And the charges were somewhat random, e.g. $20, then a few days later $4, instead of a monthly charge on a specific day each month. The credit card company told me that Magic Jack is being defrauded as well, because someone is using a card number to receive the service but it is not the same person who is paying for it. Not sure how this happens---perhaps a database leak. However, I still do not trust this company---they are very difficult to contact, and the rep could not refer me to another person in the company, and was unaware of this situation. It seemed like she was reading from a script. Anyway, check your credit card bills carefully.

UNABLE TO MAKE TO FAMILY IN SD. FOR 4 WEEKS, AND NOW THEY WON'T REFUND MY MONEY BACK TO ME
I HAVE BEEN USING MAGIC JACK FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS, AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I BOUGHT A MAGIC JACK, SPENT $39.95 PLUS CO. STATE AND LOCAL TAX, THEN, I SPENT ANOTHER $19.95 PLUS CO. STATE AND LOCAL TAX, TO KEEP MY NUMBER, WHICH NO ONE AT MAGIC JACK, TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY EXTRA, JUST TO KEEP MY NUMBER, AND IF THAT ISN'T BAD ENOUGH THEN FOR THE PAST 4 WEEKS, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CALL MY FAMILY IN SD. OR RECEIVE CALLS FROM THEM!!! THAT'S RIGHT 4 WEEKS WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH MY FAMILY!!! THAT'S WHY, I BOUGHT THE STUPID MAGIC JACK, AND NOW, BECAUSE IT'S PAST THE 30 DAY TRIAL PERIOD THEY REFUSE TO REFUND ONE CENT BACK TO ME!!!
THOSE LYING THEIFS, THEIR NOTHING BUT COWARDS, AND THAT'S WHY THEY DON'T USE OR HAVE PHONES, BECAUSE THEIR NOTHING BUT LYING FRAUDS, AND I REGRET HAVING EVER PURCHASED A MAGIC JACK, AND THE WORST PART, I USE TO RECOMMEND MAGIC JACK, TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND I EVEN STOOD UP, AND DEFENDED MAGIC JACK, WHEN PEOPLE WOULD, PUT IT DOWN, AND LOOK HERE I AM!!!
THANKS MAGIC JACK FOR NOTHING, YOUR COMPANY SUCKS!!! I HOPE THAT THE BBB.. NAILS THEM AND THAT THE FCC DOES TOO, I HOPE THAT THEIR SLAMMED WITH A HUGE LAWSUIT, FOR FRAUD!!! PEACE OUT PAM

Reach Daily Cal Limit - Service CANCELLED
Please Read Carefully Before Purchasing The Magic Jack.
We purchase the Magic Jack as it claimed it was free unlimted calling to anywhere in Canada and the USA.
We had the Magic Jack for only 4 days and on that 4th day, I worked from home and made my Long Distance calls to office locations in Alabama. My calls were originating from New York.
Half way through the say, my Magic Jack says on the screen, "Outgoing Calls Disabled"
Upon speaking to Customer Service via "Live Chat" from the website, the operator says that the reason why our calls were disabled was becuase I made more than 20 calls in one day.
According to their "Policy", which is off on a small link in a remote section of their website, If anyone makes mroe than 20 calls/day, Magic Jack will cancel the service permanently without refund.
The operator on the chat literally say "Tough Luck. You made more than 30 calls on that day. You servbice is terminated without refund"
The Magic Jack only cost me $39 but just terminating the service like that without even a warning? Its difficult to believe that this company is still in business.
BUYER BEWARE. They will scam you before your year is up and shut your service.

Customer Service
They have the worst service and thwey know it.. That is why you can not get a number to call anyone.
They will never admit they don't know. If you pay for the 5 year plan and do not have service after 30 days you will not receive a refund..

Can't get mine to work
I used to have cable and switched to DSL. My Magic Jack worked great on cable, but n ow the file won't open. I plug in the MJ and the grey MJ symbol comes up but it won't open to the page where it lists all your calls, etc. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Confused

Unreliable
Purchased 3 Magic Jacks for myself and two daughters so they could call their grandmother. Worked great for a short time but now they are having issues not being able to call certain areas. They say they are working on fixing the problem. This have been going on for weeks now. Just how long does it take to fix. They have no idea. Should have paid attention to all the complaints issued on them.
Beware their reliability and concern for fixing their problems seems to be null and void. Their only concern and commitment is to rip you off and get your money not to service what they sell.

I got the MJ 4months after I had ordered it. I was charged through my credit card the FULL amount without even recieving the damn thing!!! Does anyone out there know how to get through to customer service>

contact not downloading
To whom it may concern,
This magic jack does not load my contacts. What is wrong with this system? I just away from my computer for several months and my computer is still on the internet but this magic jack does not load my contact and I can't place a call to anybody why?

custermer service
trying to get magicj jack to work again started acting funny spent an 1hr with the online chat made the magic they said they do not have a number so i found a number for them so i called and they told me that it was only for billing only but i wanted to talk to a manager and they started saying that they were not there or in a conferance and hang up when i called magic jack and they ask am i going to keep calling told them i am a disabled vet have nothing better to do they told me that they do not care even if i was active millitary they would not give me a manager SO TO ME THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE USA JUST
