Nowhere Fees and moved maturity dates
Seems like the more I look the more I uncover the exact same story.
Citifianacial sold my loan in 2008. Loan matured in May 2012. Santandar kept changing maturity date to july and then back to may. Whatever but In July I was supposed to be done. Ahah! Not so. I have payments of 355 untill Oct. Why? They said because late 13 times. So they added 1000 to the loan? wth!
I live in Massachuetts if there is a lawyer out there!

Pissed of Car Loan Payer
Santanders Consumers USA is one of the crooked business I has every encountered. This company took over my loan from Citi-Financial. I first bought my car back in 2006. I have doing automatic payments throught my bank 10th day of the month. Five day before the due date on the 15th. In August 2011 I requested an payoff request after my August payment went threw. It gave me an payoff quote of $424.31 due by 9/21/2011. I stopped my automatic payment through my bank for the 10th day of September, because I knew I would payoff the $424.31 before the payoff date.On 9/19/2011 I paid my car off.....Yes! With me thinking this is an great day! I have no more car notes... In October out of routine with paying bills! I decided to checked my account with Santanders Consumer USA online, because I know I paid it off. Plus, I just wanted to see an balance of $0. I check the account and it show an balance of $379. WTF! I called this the company while on my way to work trying to get some understanding. The female I talked to with Santander's stated my payment on 9/10/2011 did not go through, but we received an for $424.31 on the 9/19/2011. I told this lady I cancelled this automatic payment through my bank for $379 due to the fact I knew I was going to pay the payoff before the due date. She was made it seem like, I had to do may regular payment on the 15th and the payoff quote get my balance to zero. I told her when requesting payoff quote online it did not state..$424.31 plus next additional payment. I eventually hang up the phone. Two days later I received an letter from Santanders Consumer USA. Lord and behold it wan an letter of Release of Lien with Title. Letter stated my balance was ZERO! I am thinking these folks got me all worked up two days ago for nothing. In January 2012 I received an saying my account is 14 day delinquent! Here we go again...WTF! I checked the account online and it still stated i owed in balance eventhough I got my Title and release of lien letter with an balance of ZERO! Today 3/6/2012 I talked to an BITCH name TRISH with Santanders Consumer USA! Again trying to get some understanding. She gave me the same bullshit the other lady gave before I got the Release of Lien Letter with Title........ After awhile of listening to her bullshit. I asked her what do I need to pay to end my balance, caused I don't need something negative on my credit. She stated they haven't reported anything negative on my credit. Okay! Well asked her let me payoff the remaining balance of $389.22 over the phone since they claim the shit is recorded! This BITCH tells me she can not take my payment over the phone. I could do the payment online or send it western union. WTF! At the time I am thinking WTF are you good for....... She started talking about something but I cut this BITCH off and told her to have an nice day Trish! As soon as I got off the phone. I got online and paid the remaining balance. I fucking promise if I see something negative on my credit report from them or another fucking bill of any sort. I will sue the shit out of them! SANTANDER CONSUMER USA are some crooks and hope someone does start an class action law suit on them...

Rep said my card was declined but the funds were withdrawn and now they say they have no record of the transaction!
This morning I called Santander to make a $195 payment on my car loan. I gave the representative my card information but was told that it was declined. I told her that was impossible because I had just checked the balance and there were sufficient funds to cover the transaction. I verified the card information with her and she tried to process the payment again. She told me again that the card had been declined. I told her I would call back with another card later on in the day. During my lunch break I called back with a different card and a male representative took my card and I was told it had been approved and processed. When I went to the ATM with the card that had been denied earlier in the day, I realized that the $205.95 transaction that had been 'declined' by Santander was PENDING TO CLEAR my account!!! When I called Santander the rep told me that they had no record of that card in their system and there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with a manager who was no more helpful, I asked him to send me a letter stating that they did not charge anything to the declined card and he said it was impossible because they cant send me something on a card that they dont have record of in their system. I told him that he has fingers, he could just TYPE a letter confirming that they didnt try to charge the card. He refused. I told him I could send him a copy of my account history showing it posting, he nonchalantly said that I could do that, but that they would 'get to it' tomorrow after today's end of day had been run. I dont know if he thinks people have money just lying around but because of their incompetant customer service staff, my other bills are not going to get paid. I called direct express (the card that was charged without authorization) and they said I have to fill out a dispute form which will take 7-10 days to get to me in the mail and then there is a review process (more time). Seriously??????????? I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Horrible people/customer service
This is by far the WORST experience I have ever had with a loan company. I started my loan with Citi Financial, and never ever had a problem with them. I came back from a deployment to find my account was with this company now.. I called immediately to find out who they were and I spent 30 mins getting details- I was upset at first bc the first person I ever spoke to thought it was a BENEFIT to me that they weren't reporting me to credit agencies-- the ONE thing I've owned, and never missed a payment on? Yes, please.. REPORT ME.. I immediately started paying large payments to get the loan away from this unknown company -- they informed me that my last payment had to be certified check or western union- i asked what if I didn't pay the last payment, since they arent reporting me anyhow- I was informed at this point that NOTHING, there was nothing they could do to me? WHAT kind of lie is that? so I made my last payment in full via western union because AGAIN was told by a uneducated agent that I would get my title in 5 days if I paid that way-- NO... they want to hold my title for 20 days BECAUSE they claim I may be able to go back and get my cash from western union? THAT'S impossible.. I have spent a week dealing with the worst customer service people EVER - I have been cussed at, and forced to scream to be heard.. I am deploying for a year and want my title so that I can sell this car! I have NEVER missed ONE payment, paid the loan off 2 years EARLY and now that it's my turn to get something I must wait? I had a supervisor tell me if I sent her a screen shot of my BANK ACCOUNT I could get the title released, instead my bank faxed her a letter- she still waited a day to release my title- now here I sit, waiting for an electronic title to reach the FL DMV? If you are able to refinance your vehicle loan with another company and even if you'll pay higher rates DO IT! don't do anything with this AWFUL company!!!

Harrasment
The representitives from this company did nothing but harrass me I was in the hospital after giving birth and was late on my payment the reps called every day and did not care about the situation. Many times we paid the bill and it was late posting and I would still get calls saying we needed to pay the bill. A couple of months ago I sent in my car payment to the address on their return slip and the rep told me it was the wrong address needless to say it was late and I had to defer a payment.

Continuing Charges despite payoff of loan
I never took out a loan with Santander. My loan was sold to them by Citi. I never missed a payment or was late during the entire time that I had the loan. I paid off the loan and Santander is continuing to take the same payment from my account despite the fact that I have a zero balance with them. I have called, faxed and emailed them to try to get it to stop but they refuse to acknowledge that it's happening and refuse to return the money. I have faxed them bank statements showing the charges and filed fraud charges with my bank. I'm at a loss for what to do. So I am closing the bank account that they are deducting the money from despite the incredible inconvenience of changing my direct deposit and other direct debits for other bill payments. I don't know what I'm going to do to get my money back. They are rip off artists. They will steal every penny that they can get and then fight with you tooth and nail before they will give it back. Somebody please open a class action against these guys. I will happily join in.

Lending Practices
My auto loan with HSBC was taken over by Santander in 2008. Santander is/was a secondary lender (for those with poor credit) and their business practices are questionable. I have requested my loan contract from them three times. Today when I called, I advised the customer service representative I was recording the call. She said I need their permission. I asked her for it and she told me no. I asked for a supervisor. Twelve minutes later I speak to another person attempting to end the phone call if I recorded. I advised them they record it on their end so they shouldn't have a problem with it, but he still tried to end the call. MY CONCERNS ABOUT SANTANDER: I'm not sure they have a copy of my original HSBC loan contract and/or a copy of the loan contract with them (which technically would not be signed since I had no choice). However, when a new lender takes over a loan, by law they are required to adhere to the conditions of the original loan. My original HSBC loan contract states, "If any payment is not paid in full within 10 days after it is due, you agree to pay a late charge of 10% of the unpaid amount of any delinquent installment." HOWEVER, Santander charges the 10% late fee the first day you're late. I have a BMW with payments of $644, so that's an illegal fee of $64 anytime I was one day late. Once I receive a copy of the loan agreement, I will likely be having my attorney file a Complaint.

ALL PROBLEMS CORRECTED
AFTER FIGHTING WITH SANTANDER FOR 6 MONTHS ON MANY DIFFERENT ASPECTS, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SOLUTION, ALL MY PROBLEMS WERE SOLVED BY THEIR TELEPHONE REP. NAMED FELECIA, STATIONED IN THEIR FORT MILL, SC OFFICE. SHE SOLVED THEM ALL IN 20 MINUTES, AFTER I HAD SPENT 6 MONTHS AND 20 MAN HOURS ATTEMPTING TO DEAL WITH SANTANDER.
SHE WAS A FORMER CITI EMPLOYEE AND THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Will Not Cridit Monies Owed Due To Their Mistakes
Santander Consumer USA Charged My Bank Account Twice And Rendered My Accounts To A Negative Status. I have Been Calling Them For Days To The Same Answer That They Are Working To Correct The Issue. Mean While I been Negative In My Accounts For 5 Days And Still Have To Wait For Them To Wire All My Monies Back To Me. So To End The Crying Here, Santander Sucks As A Business And Does Not Want To Respond With Integrity To Their Customer Cause They Do Not Care About Any Harm Done. I Hope Someday The Law Changes To Punish This Businesses For Their Wrong Doing.

Bad Lender Harrassment
I bought my car at a dealership and this is the bank they recommended me to go with and I agreed, well that is the biggest mistake I have ever made in buying a car and I should have known that I was going to have problems with this company when I found out after I signed the contract that my car was priced about 4K over the going price. Santander has been nothing but a real pain in the A$$. If you are just a couple of days late on your payment, you get charged all types of fees and interest that just adds up and it can go above of what your original loan was for. In one year and half that I have had by car loan with these jerks my principle has only gone down about $800 and my payments are $481.oo per month for 72 months at an interest rate of 18%. They will call every phone number you have provided them at least 6 - 12 times a day and they do not leave messages and I know it's them because I see their name on my caller ID on the phone. They also use numerous different phone numbers to throw you off even cell phone numbers! They have called me a few times after 9:00 PM! When you do talk to someone, they are very straight forward about talking over you and do not give you a chance to talk or they themselves cannot speak good English. I think the attorney general should get involved in every state that these idots do business and have them investigated for unlawful tactics they use. Also, be carefull if they offer you a deferrel where you put your late payments on the end of the loan, because when you reach the point wherre all you have is couple of referrel payments left, you wacked with a lot of interest and late fees and they pretend like there is nothing wrong with that. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
