While traveling from NJ into Pa on Route 22 West we PAID the Toll in cash in the Ezpass/Cash lane to an attendant at the RAS toll booth plaza. A few weeks later we get a notice of enforcement action stating we need to send in $26.00 because we ran the Ezypass lane #15s. I don't have Ezpass and I paid the toll in cash to the attendant. Does New Jersey need the money so bad that they will resort to illegal activities such as this? I called the tollfree number and was firm with the operator who told me I was clocked at 51MPH and that there was no bar in front of my car that lifts only when you pay the attendant the toll. How do you fight the state for 26 dollars? She told me as it was my first voilation of this nature she would waive to 25 dollars administrative cost and just send in the dollar charge for the toll. In short New jersey must be in a bad place financially. Maybe if they dumped some of the Fatcats in Trenton they wouldn't have to resort to such tactics.
