Screw Target
I had a deadline and broke my reading glasses. I needed to submit a proposal to my boss at seven a.m. I drove to Target to get a pair of new reading glasses. It was 9:01 pm on a Sunday evening. The security people would not help me get into the store on minute after closing. I implored them that I needed these glasses badly and asked for a special favor to go in and get them. There were at least fifteen people in line at the check out still and yet they would not help me. I have never been treated with such numb cold apathy in my life. I did not ask for the manager and I did not raise a fuss. I just left that stinking glaring nasty sight of a store and I will never go back. You earn business in this world by going a little above and beyond. These big corporations are like giant twerps with no feeling or sensitivity to people's needs. So screw Target. Next time I'll just go to Wall Mart at least I know they are open late. I sold my Target stock the moment I got home.

Refund of money owed
Last Sunday the 19th of April, I was at the Super Target on 2nd Street in Edmond, Oklahoma doing my weekly shopping like I do most weekends. The clerk had completely checked out all of items and I had paid using my debt card as payment. The debt machine that I used showed the message "Thank you..." upon completion of my transaction, however the clerks’ register became stuck and no receipt would run - it just sat there. Therefore the Manager finally came around to the lane we were using and informed me that I would need to completely check out again, even though it was clear that I had already paid and that transaction was completed. I had $200.00 worth of items in my cart. She proceeded to take everything back out of the cart and then the sacks and re-ring the items. During this process I asked her if I would be charged double during this proceed since I would be paying twice and she assured me repeatedly this would not happen. (30 minutes of my time wasted) -

Well, the next morning I checked my bank account online and sure enough - I had been charged twice. The original total of $147.10 and the second charge of $128.26 (She had discounted my original amount due to my complaints). I called the Edmond Target and asked for the Manager; I was connected to one. He informed me that they were experiencing problems with their registers and if I would come back to the store they would void my ticket and it would take no longer than 5 minutes. So that day - Monday after work, I walked up to the Target, went to Customer service as suggested - I explained the problem to the clerk at the counter, who call for a Manager- the manager came over after we went over what had happened on Sunday and she stated that she did remember that as well - she looked at me and left- no explanation of where she was going or any comment whatsoever. Then Another manager showed up - he was actually very helpful however when he tried to void my ticket item by item he was not allowed access to do this. When the clerk put me on the phone with the person at "headquarters" stated that he would not be allowed to do this, they felt strongly that my first debt card payment would not be credited to my account - only the next day it was. (50 minutes of my time wasted) -- I called my bank to verify this information and they confirmed that the monies had been paid to Target twice.

So, on Tuesday I called back, and spoke with yet another manager - he assured me he would get to the bottom of this and called me back. He did in fact call me back to let me know he was talking with the manager from the evening before and he was trying to figure out the solution. (10 minutes of my time wasted) -

Tuesday through Sunday I was doing volunteer work from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday and unable to deal with this situation. During this time no one from Target called to advise me of the situation as promised. So on Monday, April 27, 2009 - 8 days after I last shopped at Target in Edmond I called back and spoke with yet still another manager, who informed me that I would need to dispute the charge with my bank. I asked her to have her supervisor return my call and he did. The Supervisor called me around 1:45 pm on Monday. He reaffirmed that I would need to dispute the charge with my bank. I did this after work on Monday - total time wasted today 40 minutes of my time - zero for Target - I did all the work.

I have wasted my time dealing with a problem that wasn't my own nor created by me and my money has been tied up for over 8 days. By the time the money is returned to my account it wil have been around 20 days according to my bank. I still do not have it back, it’s a good thing I have enough money so you can control part of it at your will.

Returns
Tonight I went to my local Target, intending on returning some unneeded items. In the past two weeks, I have spent around $600 at this and one other Target. The amount of the total return was $130. It included several different items such as some Tag reading books and extra cleaning items. Now, I shop regularly at Target.

I am aware that the back of the receipt states it is needed for a return. I also know that a sign posted at every customer service counter at every Target states they can use your credit card to look up any item you purchase. I have made returns before using my credit card. On this particular night, however, that policy was not true. The cashier at the counter ran my card through the machine, scanned most of the items, and told me they had been found on the card. She then stupidly hit the restart button on the computer. This crashed the computer, and lost the return I had attempted to do. She then proceeded to another computer. When she ran my card through again, and scanned some of the items, she said they were not found on the card. She had just found them on the other computer! She then called her manager, who told her to call "refund authorization." I stood there for 35 minutes while she spoke with someone at the authorization center. She was told they could not help her. I then asked to speak to the store manager. He came over, and spoke with me for ten minutes, and gave me the runaround. Basically, they couldn't help me. I could try coming back tomorrow (according to the store manager)to try to return those items again. Why would I want to drive back to a store that couldn't help me the first time? Why would I spend more money on gas, when I was trying to get my money back? Now, the part that bothers me about the situation is 1) the cashier found the items on the card the first time, and 2) the whole situation was her fault.

Awful customer service
My wife who is German went to a target store at the end of July 2007. She was solicited to open a Redcard account, thinking it was like a preferred or rewards card like at the supermarkets. She also thought she got a 10% discount and that the amount was charged to the bank card. This was in Phoenix AZ and we moved to Idaho at the beginning of September, and we had our mail forwarded for 6 months. We never received anything from Target, not even one letter or phone call until the end of March 2008 when they told us we owed them over 300 dollars. I paid the money, because these people are such scam artists, adding ridiculous amounts of money to the original 70 dollars every few weeks.

When you go to the Target Website you will find nothing about Customer Service. They are scammers. If we were not contacted it is because this unethical corporate giant waits months to contact you so that they can accumulate unheard of late fees and interest. They called us for the first time at the end of March. The lady from Jamaica that called me said that in fact they had only sent one letter (in September) and that this letter just returned to them on April 1, 2007. Absolutely amazing, I have never been late on a payment in my life and I felt like such a fool being ripped off by con artists. I explained that my wife was German, that we had never received anything from them...they just kind of laughed and basically said...too bad for you...its not our problem and we don't care if you ever shop Target again. This company probably makes more money from their credit card scams than from their retail store. They have not desire to help customers and if you do a search on their website for customer service or for customer relations you come up with a blank, because the words cannot be found by their own search tool on their website.

Please never never open any type of account with this unethical company. I can't imagine how many people they have ripped off. What kind of company only sends one letter and then never calls until your original purchase has increased with fees by 500%? Please shop anywhere but target. I think I will now cancel my Sears card as well, since these companies are now linked. I used to think of Sears as an ethical company, but if they are associated with this group of thieves, I wonder.

shop lifting arrest!! racist?
Hi I an on H1B non-imiggrant visa

I was shopping for earrings at a store at Target I bought 2 pairs, when I was leaving the store, 2 men came and accused me of shoplifting and took me to a room for questioning. I had the receipt for earrings I showed them that. Then they accused me of changing the tags of an expensive earring and buying it for less price. I told them I didn’t do it. They won’t listen. They called me niggy?
They threatened me saying that they will report it to police and I could be deported.
I panicked and asked them what should I do. Then they told me to sign a paper then they won’t report it to the police and it will be confidential. I signed it, and they let me go.

Now I received notice from the store’s attorney saying that I should pay civil claim of $200. If I won’t pay it they will sue me.

Here is what it says:

Pursuant to RC 2307.60, RC 2307.61 we may proceed with a civil claim against you unless you make payment of $200 within 30 days.
You may settle this matter by making a payment to us in the amount of $200 within 30 days. Upon receipt of full payment and clearance of funds, you will receive a written release of the civil claim.
If you fail to make payment or fail to enter into agreement to make payment within the 30-day period you may be sued in a civil action in relation to theft offense. If you were sued, the potential judgment sought would include a request for administrative costs, the cost of maintaining the civil action and reasonable attorney’s fees. If you prevailed in any such civil action, you may recover reasonable attorney fees, the cost of defending the action and any compensatory damages that can be proved. However if you make the payment within the thirty-day period and make payment in accordance with the agreement, you cannot be sued for this civil matter.
After thirty-day period expires, we will review the file for the possibility of further civil action. Therefore, to avoid a higher demand request, please make full payment.

Please somebody give me an advice about what to do.

1.Shall I just pay the $200 and forget about it.
2.Shall I talk to an attorney?
3.What happens to my green card processing? Currently I am on H1B for IBM4.If I pay $200 will it be in my record? How can I hide this from my job I dontr want to lose my stauts

Thanks

getting paid for nothing at all
the thing is i love target. i have always had a nice time shopping and the employees have always helped with a smile. but with the way that times are everyone is cutting back. letting people go. but at this store it seems they are letting go of the wrong people. the ones who want to work and do their job. i went to target looking to find a few things. i went up to a lady and asked for help. her tag said maggie. she acted like she did not even want to give me the time of day let alone the help she was getting paid for. in the middle of asking for her help she waved me off and answered her walkie talkie. so i walked off to find some one who would help. before leaving the store. the same girl was yelling and getting rude with other employees. first of all customers come first, we are their form of a paycheck. we don't buy, they don't get paid. second if you have a problem with other employees, you take them off the floor. third you sure the heck don't talk to others that way, even if your they boss. and forth, if your getting paid to do a job, you work. you don't walk around like your getting paid to flip your blonde hair and act like little miss priss. i know how things should work. i have been in the retail industry for 33 years. and this does not work. i am to old for attidtude from people who think they can get paid for looking pretty.

Harassment
I have this problem with Target, I have been to several of there stores, and some that are not Target. I wonder if this Target is the only store in this state to act this way, yet I see it in several other Target stores too, it can not happen in all the stores, I believe.

The good part is that they label the shelves, therefore every place has its own space, every row is numbered, or could be, to supply the things to be put on the shelves, therefore could be found by the person putting it there, or the person to buy it find it, maybe. To place it on the shelf, the label or a scan tool, or the shelf label, can make it easier, yet because they weave in and out, rather than start from one side that can make it easy to find, yet sometimes it can be difficult, or easy if its known where it is on the shelf.

The problem is, the way some people that work there, have strange ideas about where things should be put on the shelf. They made it as easy as logic could think of, yet some people that work there think they should place things in the wrong place, remember I wrote everything has its place, they see an empty place and do not have that item that belongs there, therefore think it should be filled with anything they choose to put there and still labeled as something else for a price.

The strange ideas from these people to force others to accept there reason for putting it in the wrong space, remember every thing has its place, they do not like people correcting them when others see its in the wrong place.

The people that do a good job or intent upon doing a good job get blamed for the problem, these other people do.

At night, before closing, they pull things forward to look full or make it easy to grab and buy, problem is they move it several spaces beyond its place where a different price is or different subject is, just to fill an empty place to look like its full.

They fight, or differ, with people that know it belong only in its place.

Would you like to work for a store, that make you shift from reality, one day; yet another day, blame you for doing what you tried to do to start with.

People come and go that work there, they leave for a reason.

Another problem, that happens at Target, can happen anywhere, the team lead can complain or treat fairly or unfairly about how people work, that people need a drink of water, or need to use the restroom, or complain about finishing work, workers are human being not machines, to be overworked or made to do too much, all by thereself, yet others have team spirit to help, remember some people can do some thing by thereself, yet some are expected to do too much.

Bad customer service
I ordered an item from Target's website. The shipping estimate was four days after the order date. That date passed and I got an email saying the shipment was delayed. The new estimated shipping date passed. Ten days after I had ordered the item, I contacted Target to ask what was going on. They told me the item was out of stock and I could just wait until if-when it became available again. They didn't bother to inform me on their own; I had to contact them and ASK what in the world was up. The service rep used very condescending and dismissive language in his email to me.

They gave me a crappy $3 discount on a future order as an "apology." I wrote back and told them to remove it from my account because I'll never shop at Target again. They removed the discount and then said they hope I'll shop at Target again. Yeah, right! Not only will I never buy from Target again, I'm telling as many other people as possible about this crappy experience.

Ridiculous policy
Three Go International tops I wanted were finally marked down to 30% off. Or so I thought. When I went to get rung up, the less-than-friendly cashier charged me full price for two of them and told me that they only mark down certain sizes. I asked to speak with a manager and she refused to listen to me.

I went to Guest Services and dealt with Krystal, who was equally rude and unwilling to hear my side of the story. She treated me like a liar when I insisted that there was a sign indicating that the items were all 30% off. She reiterated the fact that Target only marks down clothing of certain sizes and colors, depending on how well something sells. I have never heard of this ridiculous policy before. All the others stores I've went to mark down a certain item in all sizes and colors.
I have been a Target shopper for years, but in the past few years, especially at this Chicago South Loop store, I've received very bad customer service. I am no longer giving them my business. In an economy where money is tight, team members shouldn't display such negative attitudes and companies shouldn't have such ridiculous policies, as the consumer can easily go somewhere else where they are treated better. I was a big fan of the GO International lines at Target and was looking forward to the Alexander McQueen line in March, but they have permanently lost my business.
