Teletech@Home Current Employee
With any customer service job you have to keep a certain call handle time because their are other customer waiting to have there question answered. Customer service is not for everyone you have to almost be fake and be understanding and not let irate customers get on your nerves to keep your job. So it would be nice to have some customer service experience under your belt so far the company is a good place to work for. I am paid on time and always have a chance to work other peoples hours if I need the extra money. And of course you have to pay your own light and internet bill its the same as if you was working in a brick in mortar call center and still use your computer at home the light and internet bill is still going to be due at the end of the day. Good luck to anyone who is trying to get hired on its a legit and fast paced work environment for anyone who has drive and love making customers happy.

Misguided Management
Working at home may sound attractive until you consider that you are actually paying the employer for the honor; in this case, Teletech. There are an abundance of “hidden costs”, that most people don’t even consider.
1) You use and pay for additional electricity while you work at home.
2) You pay for the entire DSL billing with no reimbursement from Teletech.
3) You use your own computer to handle Teletech’s accounts, allowing them unlimited access to your personal files and emails.
4) You risk contracting a virus through Teletech’s network because if one computer is infected there is a chance that all may become infected.
Today was my group interview for an alleged fulltime Teletech @Home CSR role; what a disappointment, and I want to report that all the negative things I’ve heard and read about Teletech are true. Not only were the claims of rude and unprofessional management confirmed today, but I found that Teletech is offering an unsubstantial wage of $8.50 an hour with no benefits. Additionally, we were told that we “had” to purchase the Teletech approved headset for our new job in order to “move forward, ” and during this initial meeting candidates were asked to install Cisco Unified Presenter in order to allow our desktops to be shared with and accessed by the facilitator, Whitney.
With a group of 20 potential candidates on our 0930 conference call, Whitney gave the distinct impression that she’d rather be anywhere besides an interview session. She was rude, insolent and extremely totalitarian. Within the first 2 minutes of the group interview, I asked Whitney if she could answer a question (“Is the role fulltime or part-time?) to which she curtly replied, “I only answer questions at the end of the interview, ” which in this case was more than 2 hours away. Even though I was not allowed to ask my question, another candidate confirmed that the role was indeed part-time/seasonal and then excused himself from the event explaining that he needed a fulltime position.
Compounding all of this is the fact that you can be terminated at a moment’s notice. Most recently, a 585-seat center in Amherst, Ohio was downsized to 0 representatives because Teletech claims T-Mobile terminated their contract, and are pulling their customer service in-house. Based upon the new and improved (for Teletech) wage offering of $8.50 per hour to new hires, it seems the motivation for laying off 585 tenured representatives was purely to reign in the output of compensation for employees, and enhance the bottom line.

No good to work for
This company is more concerned with call handle times than customer satisfaction. They have a lot of expectations of you for each call, yet they constantly pressure you to keep the call short. How can you give quality customer service while constantly watching the timer?
They are also not too concerned with your schedule. They change your shift whenever they feel like it to whatever they feel like making it, and it's up to you to try to get someone to switch with you ... good luck with that! My training class had over 25 people, and after 4 months, there are no more than 8 left.
To top it all, the pay is not worth the pressure they put on you, also the verbal abuse from some of the customers.
