Horrible Customer Service
I have had the absolute worse experience with Verizon Fios. It started with a phone call for basic fios tv serice, however, the technician work order was for a full bundle package including premium movie channels, phone and internet! I told the tech I ONLY wanted the basic tv as I had at my old residence. I called the customer service department, was transfered to 4 people before I was sent to a retention representative that told me she would adjust the account. The bill come a month later-I was charged for full bundle. I called, once again was transfered numerous times before someone said they would adjust the bill and will place an order to cut off the internet and premium channel, which I never ordered and should not have been hooked up by the technician and should have been taken off when I spoke to the retention rep the first time. A month later, another hugh bill...I have been on the phone for hours, yes, each time I have called it has been well over an hour. I went to the local walkin center-and they called with me standing there, they were on the phone over an hour...and they could not get my account correct. This is too much! I called Comcast and am willing to pay more monthly for the basic service to just so I do not have to keep up this issue with Verizon!!

worst store in Baltimore
The store at 915 W 36th Street in Baltimore sucks. Not only do they not keep in stock common items like chargers for phones they sell, but then they don't keep the store open for the hours they state the store is open. I've also encountered rude unhelpful staff there before too (though not all of them are that way). They sold me a bad phone that wouldn't keep its charge, then refused to replace it stating that I had to drive out to White Marsh to have a technician look at it (and by the time I got out there, my warranty had expired so I had to buy a new phone). It can be difficult for some to make trips outside of the city (not everyone has a car).
I was advised by a passerby (as I stood outside of the prematurely closed store) that this store was terrible, that they overcharged for their items, and that I should go to the store in Reisterstown. Too bad I don't live in Reisterstown.

Scam charges
I just received my phone bill and realized a $181.48 charge for a phone call to Varna, Bulgaria. I tried various online sites trying to get the rate from Verizon but could not get the information. I could not find it in your phone book either. I check various sites and got quotes that ranged between $.029 and $.259 a minute Mobile being more expensive I do not believe I should have to pay this outrageous rate.

I used Verizon realizing it would be more expensive but it was an emergency. I did not have time to push all sorts of buttons to try and talk to an operator. Never did I think I would be charged over $5.00 a minute. I still do not know how much a minute I was charged or how long the call was as all the bill listed was Voice Additional Charges. Upon receiving the bill, I called the billing department. After pushing many button and about ten minutes later I spoke to the International Billing Department. I Received a $5.00 refund for the first call I made and left a message. My bill was $216.13 for the call with a Freed Value deduction of $34.49 making the total $181.49.

I think it is out outrageous that Verizon charges these rates and the customer does not have easy access to the costs. It is just a way for Verizon to promote international service at an extra charge per month. What about the occasional international caller? I think your rates should be listed on line and in the phone book. I believe Verizon is targeting the immigrant population who do not know the language and sales pitch and take your service instead of phone cards. Why can"t Verizon charge reasonable rates.

After making the call, I received several calls from telemarketer asking if I wanted to buy additional service for international calls. How dare you invade my privacy! It is not anyone's business to know what international calls I make; even worse to pass that information on to telemarketers. Not only are you invading my privacy but annoying me with telemarketer phone calls. To make matters worse after refusing the telemarketer, I keep getting calls. Does no mean anything. If I wanted international service, I would call and inquire about it. I am sure if I want to buy a product your company would have no problems providing me with the information

Overcharged
They overcharged me for dsl and would not cancel the account (2 yrs) and kept charging me. I signed up for Fios and they made promises when I signed up and would not honor them. I spent 3 hours today 5-4-9 and nothing was resolved - they kept transferring me and putting me on hold. They promised to get all this resolved when I signed up for Fios but they did not.

Bad Service
I've been a Verizon customer for years. I travel nationally and internationally and Verizon seems to offer the widest service area. However, in my office which is in a major suburb of cleveland the service is terrible. Every time I see one of those Verizon "Dead Zone" commercials my blood pressure goes up and I get an urge to slap that nerd who leads the thousands of so-called support people behind him.

People are always telling me that they called me on my cell phone and there was no answer. If a call does make it through to me the odds are that the call will be dropped in the first minute. This only happens when I am in my office, but it is especially frustrating because most of my calls are business calls.

When I complain to Verizon I get one of two stock answers, "dial *228 to upgrade your telephone service" or "you can purchase a special antenna for $350". Dialing *228 never helps and I don't want to spend the $350 for a service that I already pay for.

Any ideas?

Horrible Service
1. Called Verizon about a month and a half ago to inquire about a new phone number since I was moving. They said they would call back when it was a month away from my move - THEY NEVER CALLED BACK
2. Set up new phone installation for Monday, July 13 - after 7 phone calls (4 of which hung up on me during transfer) and losing a day of work - THEY NEVER SHOWED UP - because they were calling my old phone number - WHERE I DON'T LIVE ANYMORE.
3. They also turned off my Email that I need for my business - had to become irrate for them to give me a 'complimentary' dial-up service.
4. Why does it take 8 days to turn on the DSL?
5. Would they be OK if I were 8 days late with my bill?
6. This is why monopolies are bad!

Scam and lies
Went into what I thought was a Verizon store but was actually Cellular Services Inc. The sign on building is very misleading with Large Verizon sign. So I purchased two cell phone cases with belt clips for at $25ea to later find out the cases don't fit phones properly. Return the next day and store would not return because the boxes had slight 1/4" tear on the corner where original manufacturing sealing tape was used. Store said because box had slight tear that they would not offer any kind of refund or exchange.

Consumers are being misled by use of large Verizon sign as they are an independent company. Store won't stand behind anything they sell and consumers are left with worthless products.

Scam billing from ESBI
ESBI billing is a scam, but when it's not paid VERIZON attaches late charges every month. Even though I have called them 3x over the past months, spending a total of well over an hour on hold, they continue to add late charges for this disputed billing. Verizon is as guilty as ESBI because they are trying to make it so damn inconvenient to not pay ESBI that I will give up.

Cheaters
Saveology promised $300 rebate if you get Verizon Triple Play through them. After 3 months, it sent a certificate to register to www.claimyourgroceries.com. After asking for personal information (in a very shady and an unsecured website), it asks for your checking account to pay a hidden $10 fee to complete the registration.
