Don't use Walmart for tires
Don't use walmart for tires. I ordered 4 tires for my Honda Pilot and the tires were $105 each. The clerk told me the total cost would be $560 and I asked why.The clerk told me two of the for wheel sensors were bad and would need to be replaced. The clerk then said the computer would have to be reset and that would cost $20. When I said I could go to the dealer for that price he told me the dealer would charge $125 for each sensor, which was a lie. I told him to put my tires back on and refused the deal. The next day I had two flat tires on my car, because they damaged the tire valve.

Security employee was fired because he actually chased down a thief
I was reading about a security employee being fired because he actually chased down a thief. No wonder we have no credibility as a nation! Bunch of wimps, the example should be explicit. Don't even try...Give the guy a medal (raise). Who are we gonna call when the going gets really tough? So many have lost their lives, waiting appropriately...instead of acting. Evil wins that way.

Simple Price Check turns into yelling match with night manager
At approx. 10:35 - 10:45 pm on April 21, 2010 I prepared to check out at the South Keys Wal-mart location. The only cashes available where #12 and #1, 4 & 6 in their "Express line". Cashier #4 became free and I placed all my products on the counter. I said "hi" to which there was no response. The cashier began ringing products in and as is my habit I watched the digital screen as I have been overcharged by stores and prefer not to be. A three shade eye shadow by Physician's Formula called a 3 duo, rang up as $6.58. I mentioned to the cashier that the price tag had indicated this product was $5.92.
The amount is small but I promised myself that I'd request a check on any prices that showed up incorrect at the cash and always inform staff they might like to correct their pricing if indeed the item was incorrectly priced or categorized. I had decided to carry my phone with me and take images of any prices that were on sale in the event I ever had a problem in getting charged the right price but todate I've never had to "prove" the price I saw and I'd unfortunately left my phone in the car this time.
The cashier at #4 checkout sighed and grabbed the phone asking Cosmetics to call her...I told her there had been no one in that department when I was there to which she said nothing. The phone rang and the person on the other end seemed unable to assist. She hung up and called for assistance from Cosmetics again. The next person who called appeared to be telling the cashier something that made the cashier clunk down the phone and say, "That's not MY problem" and she rolled her eyes, sighed heavily, clearly not pleased with whatever the person on the other end had said. While she had been asking for the price check, I had tried to tell the cashier to let the person know where exactly I had found the product so that it would be easier for her to find. The cashier didn't relay this information.
The person doing the price check came up to the cashier and said there were two prices the $5.92 and the $6.58. I again explained that the eye shadow I chose was directly behind the price tag of $5.92 and that it was not the eyeshadow to the far left on the display, but the one right beside that one. I explained to the price checker that I had also checked to see if this product may have been in the wrong slot. All eye shadows behind the one that I chose were exactly the same shades name.
The woman doing the price checking took the product I wanted back to cosmetics with her and then returned with another that was a different shade. The shade she came back with was Oatmeal and it had been on the far left of the colors I wanted which were Sand.
The cashier and the price checker looked at the skews on the back of each package and the price checker person stated that the price tag of $5.92 was the same skew as the Oatmeal product. This wasn't possible due to the fact that I had looked for a skew number and the price tag did not have one...which I'd found odd and which almost made me not take the product at all as I didn't want to be too delayed at the checkout as people were waiting outside in the car for me.
At no time during this period of time did I once raise my voice, speak rudely or display any level of ignorance to the cashier or the price checker. I tend to prefer "honey" to "vinegar" as I have always gotten much further that way and having worked in retail some time ago I know how frustrating it can be to have a customer being unnecessarily rude. The cashier and the price checker spoke among themselves about the price and how the skew was different on the two packages...then the cashier said, "the only thing different about these are the color" to which the price checker said "well, this one (Oatmeal) must be $5.92 and the other one is $6.58." I then stated that the Sand eyeshadow was directly behind the $5.92 price tag and I then said, "I wish I'd have brought my phone I could have taken a picture of the price tag. Then I said, "You may want to move all the eye shadows that are behind that price tag then because they were all together and I checked the price a number of times to be sure."
I then offered to go back with the price checker at which time the night manager came over to the cashier and ask what was wrong and the cashier then explained, "She says (meaning me) that this eyeshadow is $5.92 but its coming up $6.58". The night manager then told the price checker, "Here, take this" (the skew that the cashier had on a piece of paper and which had been right on top of her cash register for some reason) to which the price checker asked why. The night manager then swept her hand my way and said, "just take her (meaning me) with you so you can show her the right price and get this straightened out."
The condescending attitude this manager showed toward me and the way in which she ignored me and insinuated by her tone, actions and attitude as well as the cashier's attitude from the beginning, that I was a waste of their time and was simply being a "*itch", led me to decide not to bother standing their trying to get the proper price for a product that I could do without, and I said "Never mind, I didn't think this would be such a difficult situation. I have people waiting for me so never mind, I won't take this. Just ring up the rest of the things please... I have to go." The manager gave me a "you jerk" look and then I said, "I think perhaps I'll go to Barrhaven rather than shopping here." The manager then loudly said "there is no need to be ignorant to my staff!" I said, "I'm not being ignorant, I simply stated I was going to go to another store." The manager then said loudly, "You have been nothing but ignorant with my staff and I won't have it!" To which I said, "What?? I have not been ignorant to them!" The manager continued, "Yes you have and there's no need for it so I want you to stop!" To which I stated in just as loud a voice as hers, "Who is your manager?"
The night manager stated, "I'm the manager!" to which I said, "No, you are the night manager. I want to know who the overall manager of this store is." She became insulted I assume as her voice continued to get louder as she continued to state she was the manager and she wouldn't have me acting this way in her store.
As I was leaving, it was a shouting match, I'd been insulted enough by this manager and as I left she was still yelling at me. The cashier and the price checker were both silent the entire time. I then threw over my shoulder "Would you like to ban me from your store?" to which she was silent and then yelled very loudly, "Have a good night!" to which I responded, "You have a good night too!"
Now, in stark contrast and my usual experience when dealing with a cashier or store staff at any store, I had returned a Physician's Formula Mineral foundation that I had purchased 3 days earlier from this location and that was on sale for $8.20. The customer service girl indicated they really weren't able to refund makeup after it had been open. I explained that unfortunately I usually use testers before buying makeup but this time there hadn't been a tester and the only way I could discover that it was too light a shade was to buy it and try it at home. I further told her I had been hesitant to do that but I had wanted to try the product. I apologized that I hadn't been aware of the no return policy for makeup to which the girl said, "Well, I'll do it this time but I won't be able to do it again." I thanked her and told her I really appreciated it and I'd remember the policy for next time.
She had trouble reading the sales receipt and indicated that the printer really should have been replaced but unfortunately they weren't successful in getting a better printer at the cash that I'd been at that night. She tried a few times before she got the number in okay. Then the price of $18. and some cents kept coming up not allowing her to give me the exchange amount. So after a few tries and my apologies for the trouble to which she assured me was no trouble at all, she refunded my money, I signed the receipt for it and thanked her again for her help to which she told me to have a good night and I told her to as well.
The night manager of the Wal-mart store at Southgate in Ottawa Ontario is a disgrace to that store. As a frequent customer to that store, I have NEVER had any difficulty like this at this store before when prices were incorrect...I can guarantee I will NEVER set foot in this store again and I will be certain to pass this episode to the MANY people I know to do the same and travel a few minutes longer to the Barrhaven store where the staff are not nearly as ignorant or quick to embarrass or browbeat a customer simply because they are having a bad night.
My only regret is that I did not take down the name of the cashier and the Night Manager...but I will never forget either face because they were both very, very unprofessional.
I appreciate being able to air my frustration here. Thank you!

So many people are disappointed with their actions
I would like the WalMart CEO and other top management to know of the disappointment you have aroused among those of us who appreciate what Glen Beck has done and is doing to inform us, the public, about our government. Our congress isn't doing its job to inform its constituents and our media except for FOX and radio talk shows is caring the huge job of letting Americans know what is "FACTUALLY" happening in our country. Don't you think it odd that none of the major TV stations--only FOX NEWs--is reporting on the graft, dirty political connections, and waste of our tax dollars connected to ACORN ? So YOU, WALMART, have dropped your sponsorship of the Glen Beck TV show--We are wondering why? why do you not want us to be informed of how our government is using our tax dollars? Why do you not want to support a one-man effort to expose this corruption? Your store has been my "One Stop Shop." But I have almost finalized my decision to stop supporting you ! You don't love our working people the way you would like us to believe if you don't support those who do try to track down and let us know what is going on in our country to rob us of our hard earned money. I am not alone in having this point of view. I am a retired teacher. As a teacher belonging to a union I was told not to shop at WalMart. I ignored that directive. Now I have reason to reconsider my actions and follow that advice. How can you not support a man who is dedicated to letting the public know what is true and happening around us? My friends, family and so many people I know are SO DISAPPOINTED with your actions.

stole my money
I am a third grade teacher. I reciently got a gift card from a friend. One of my students recieved a detention for talking back. While I went to the washroom he went through my purse and stole my card. This student(future immate) went to the store on his way home to buy chocolate and baseball cards. They idiot empoyee did not question why a boy of nine was using a gift card. I later found out that he stole the gift card. He admitted it after I heard his friends talking about it. (if anyone hears the name Peter Connar in the future this is the same student who stole my gift card and he is right where he is headed). When I found out this delinquent stole my card I asked for it back. I had over $10 on the card and was left with $3.31. I told the worker behind the counter what happened and she said that Wal-mart was not responsible for lost or stolen cards. I told her it was not lost, a juvenile delinquent stole the card. The assistant manager said the same thing. I asked for a number. He gave me the store number and the home office number. I told him no I want the personnal cell phone of the district manager. He said he was not allowed to give that information even if he knew it. I knew this was a lie and he just did not want to give me the information.
I had my ten year old daughter with me and she had to witness me steal $10 worth of merchendise to make up for the gift card that Wal-mart stole from me. It is a shame that she had to witness me stealing when I taught her that stealing is wrong all because the assistant manager was unwilling to help me and understand my situation.

abusive customer service.
I went to your Lafayette, Louisiana store to buy a baseball glove and some other basement equipment. I could not find an employee at the sports department. I asked someone to page him. They paged them twice still no one came. After ten minutes I got irritated. I Someone did come. It turned out to be a lady. She said she worked in the sports department. I asked her to get a man to help me since women don't know anything about sports.(Why they hired a lady to work in a man's department I do not know. I told her I wanted to talk to someone who knows about sports and to page a male associate. I was getting fed up at this moment.
I told her if somone (a male who knew what he was talking about) did not come within ten minutes I would go to the men's washroom and start molesting boys who came to the washroom without their parents giving their customers concern for their safety.
She called someone, it turned out that she called a rent a cop. He asked me to leave the store. A few associates looked to see what was going on. I was thinking what are they doing watching me being mistreated while on the clock. The rent a cop was verbally agressive and acting like a little child. I felt like I was being trialed in kangaroo court. The rent a cop told me that I had to leave the store. My rights as a customer have been trampled on all because I had to wait a long time for someone to help me. They took my threat seriously. Come on I have a wife and daughter why would I risk my marriage and actually carry on with the threat. I just made that threat to get help fast. They told me that I was out of control and can come back when I get control over myself. They told me that if I did not leave the store immediately that I would be banned from coming to their store forever. I was really afraid of what this rent a cop would do to me so I left the store.
I do not like when anyone tells me I am out of control. When my wife does the same I beat her up. She has called the police on me so I know the police quite well. Besides the geek squad at Best Buy has called the police on me as well over something else.

Misleading customers
Today I shopped at Wal-Mart Apex, NC (store 3889) to buy a BluRay player. In the store I found 7 players on display, under every player a set of boxes for the units on display. Out of those 7 there was one Samsung player on display for 128 roll back (No original price listed on the tag) and there was one set of boxes for Samsung right underneath the player. When I came to the register to pay, the cash register showed $168 as the price instead of the advertized $128. I asked for customer service and walked over with customer services rep Mona. Once we arrived at the electronics section Mona understood my confusion and called a person from the electronics department to explain. They were also surprised and tried to find the reason for the price difference. After Mona and two reps from electronics department have searched they found that the model number was different and they called in store manager Rick.
Rick felt that because the advertized model was sold out, and although the sold model was not advertized, even though there was no clear indication to see the difference (even employees from the electronics department were confused), that I should have read the model number on the tag and compared it to the box. I expressed to the assistant store manager that I felt mislead and that they were selling a different model then they were advertizing, but his defense was that the advertized model was out of stock and they hadn't restocked it yet and therefore he couldn't help me. "I am sorry but the part number is different and I can't help you.” was his defense. I expressed to him I was unhappy but he felt that was my choice. Mona from Customer service understood why I was confused and why I felt mislead, but she had been overruled by a higher ranking manager and she couldn't help any further. This is the first time I had an issue after years of shopping at Wal-Mart but I am very unhappy about how this was dealt with by the store manager, he was clearly annoyed with the interruption and couldn’t was adamant why I wasn’t mislead.
I feel mislead and purely out of principle I will find somewhere else to purchase my BluRay player, but I am also disappointed that a Wal-Mart has assistant store manager couldn’t even try to understand the confusion.

I have really had some bad customer service experiences at Wal Mart
With 4 children 9 and under, I feel that the best deals for groceries and non food items are at WalMart, not to mention one stop shopping with limited time. I have tried to not go there and shop at Publix or Kroger but the grocery bill by itself is outrageous. Unfortunately, I have really had some BAD customer service experiences at Wal Mart.
I live in Gainesville, GA and shop at either that Wal Mart or the one in Dahlonega, GA only 25 min. away. We moved back to GA in 2006 so I have been shopping at both (mainley Dahlonega due to being less crowded) every 2 to 3 weeks drop between $500 and $600 most of the time. Around 3 years ago, I was in the Gainesville Wal Mart with my youngest (he is only 3 1/2 now). I was under the gun as usual to get finished and get to school to pick up the other 3 kids. I normally get non food items 1st and have the Customer Service Desk hold the cart for me while I finish shopping. That day, I went to checkout and get my other cart and they had used it for go-backs. I was so upset that I vowed to never go there again. Lord knows, I didn't want to go back another day after spending around 3 hours (avg. time) to shop. I literally cried because they had put back and mixed up almost all of it and I had a baby in the cart and had been there so long and of course was under the gun to get kids at school.
I decided to check out the Dahlonega store after that. It was less crowded and seemed to be better stocked. One day, I took my kids with me (all adopted from China and Korea)for just a few items and the cashier apparently didn't like the way my family looked. She had the meanest, glaring look on her face. Just behind me in line was another family (Dirty looking, kids with no shoes on their feet etc.) glaring as well. When the order ended, I realized the cashier had rung up their loaf of bread with my stuff. I had a divider between our orders but their bread had fallen onto my stuff. No big deal, BUT when I said "that is their bread" to the cashier, she literally said "ITS YOURS NOW!" Talk about stunned silence for a moment trying to take in what she had just said! That family didn't say one word either. I told her that it surely was not and she said that yes it was and that I had to go to the Customer Service desk to have it refunded. I still to this day cannot believe that she acted that way. Of course, I ranted to the Store Mgr. and that is how I got to know the nice CSM that day. We still laugh about that. Of course, she is still employed there and I wonder what they really did if anything to her for that.
Last night I went alone Dahlonega. First time in the evening. Hubby came home early so I could go alone. The visit was fine and I thought - Wow! Tues. evening (or any evening during the week) is very pleasant. After I filled 1 cart with non food (so my cold stuff won't stay out of the fridge/freezer so long) I took it to Customer Service and asked that they hold it for me. Now, mind you, I have learned that you do NOT listen to them when they say (and a CS person tells me this EVERY Time) "Just put it over there, I will watch it for you". I learned over the past 3 1/2 years at both stores to ask for a piece of paper to write my name on and tape it to the cart so that it won't be put back. It also happened once at this store as well as Gainesville. They roll their eyes when I insist on doing that. Well, not only do I write my name, but I put 'PLEASE DON'T RETURN, STILL SHOPPING AND THE DATE AND TIME". What more do these people need?!!! When I got up to the checkout last night, my stuff at "Lack of" Customer Service had been separated and some already put back. I was LIVID! It was 8pm and I had been in the store for 3 hours. I lost it! Those employees(including the one that told me just to put it over there and she would watch it) STARTED BLAMING ME! I was in tears. The Mgr. Tom came over and I was pointing and yelling because they actually had the nerve to tell me that I should have gotten one of their signatures on that piece of paper! HOW ABSOLUTELY RIDCULOUS!!! They opened another register Thank God-because they only had 2 open!) to check me out. I was furious and just wanted to get out of there. If only I could stand to walk away and leave everything, but that is so hard to do with limited time as a mother and the time I already invested. Then the one that checked me out told me that I SHOULD HAVE HAD THEM PUT IT SOMEWHERE ELSE AND THAT PEOPLE FOR CAMPS ETC. HAVE MULTIPLE CARTS ALL THE TIME. So I said "you mean to tell me that there is a 'SPECIAL' place for multiple carts. I wanted her to understand why I was so upset. She was mad and said she didn't want to argue with me. There was NO ARGUMENT that I am aware of. None of them wanted to take responsiblity and put the blame on me! I was shaking. She gave me the receipt and never said thank you. The Mgr. really didn't know what to do. I don't remember hearing anyone say they were really sorry. Customers were staring. It was SICK! I drove up for my $600 worth of stuff and the cashier that rang me up walked out with me with the 2 carts and asked if I needed any help. I told her she didn't have to and she turned around and walked away. I really didn't want her or anyone else around me while I loaded my $600 of stuff. I just wanted to get out of there asap! I called the Mgr. in my car as I was driving off and had calmed down a little. I wanted him to understand why I was so livid. He was very apologetic and said there was no such thing as getting their signature on my piece of paper etc. He said that he hoped I continue to shop with them. I told him how embarrassed I was and that I was sorry that I got so upset. I let him know that his lovely employees inflamed the situation by coming up with new ways that it was my fault. I own a business now and also worked at Winn-Dixie for 6 1/2 years thru high school and college and NEVER can imagine blaming a customer. Heck! I don't blame customers to their face when it IS their fault. The Mgr. claimed they would go over this and figure out a better way to deal with multiple cart customers. I am shaking now as I type this because it still makes me mad.
I have been overcharged or double-charged for items as well at both stores which other posters have mentioned. It is EXTREMELY important to go over the receipt especially when purchasing so many items.
I have gotten some mileage and laughs off my Wal Mart stories with my friends (especially the loaf of bread) but I feel trapped because I would LOVE to shop at Publix all the time but I just can't stand the bill! Also would probably still have to go to Wal Mart for non-food stuff and that would be 2 places to shop instead of getting it over with in one visit. It is truly a thorn in my side every 2 to 3 weeks. HELP!!!

I got ripped off by false advertisement
Why can a store have on its sign in big letters will not be undersold.
I purchased a trolling motor, One day later I was online at walmart.com and found the same motor for approx $16.00 Less. I printed this page and went to walmart. I was told they don't price match walmart.com. I would have to return this motor. Buy the one online and have it shipped for free to the store to get the price difference..Huh
this is really stupid. I had already given the motor as a gift and the package had been destroyed. So I got ripped off. This is false advertisement. Why is it that they are able to get by with this. I guess this is what you call, A rip off.
