My mother who is 84 signed up for Direct TV in April of 2010. In August, we moved her to Florida due to senility, weight of 85 pounds and constant falling. I called Direct TV to terminate the service and arranged to return the equipment. I was told that once we returned the equipment, all we would owe was $30.
