Have purchased two VW vehicles with strong recommendations from other customers. Had the 2003 VW Beetle looked at for slipping between the 2nd and 3rd gears with a VW Dealership in Dayton, OH. They estimated the cost of the repairs for a new transmission would be over $6000, more than the blue book price of the car. I found a mechanic that would diagnose the car which took sometime, but it wasn't the transmission, but the transmission valve body. He repaired it for just over $2000.
