Direct TV just informed me I have a 1 year contract w/them even though my contract was up years ago. Their reasoning: our bedroom receiver (which we owned) broke & I got one that someone was no longer using (so also owned) & had them switch the signal to the working receiver that I hooked up to the TV. So NO new services, NO new equipment from them but I now have a contract??!! Customer "service's" solution is for me to send a letter & they will reply within 3 weeks of receiving letter.
