On 4/25/09, I purchased a bottle of 90 count Loratadine antihistamine ($19.59). The item was subjected to the 6% state sales tax, even though the PA Department of Revenue web site clearly states: "The (sales) tax is not imposed on prescription or nonprescription medicines and drugs..." When I asked Target management about this and told them that the nearby Giant grocery store did not tax an antihistamine I bought there recently, they said "We have no control over what is taxed and what is not.
