July, 2009. I own a house in the mountains. There is no cable service, and no dial-up service. So I opted for Hughes Net. COSTLY MISTAKE. Their Fair Access Policy means that every time I try to upgrade my computer, or download new virus scan signatures, I exceed my "daily allotment" and then have NO SERVICE for at least 24 hours. It is easier for me to drive an hour to a coffee shop with WIFI, or order CDs from Microsoft and McAfee than to rely on getting through a download with Hughes Net service limits. 250MB. Per Day.
