Direct TV provides an option if the customer does not want them to check the credit history. Since I did not want to add another 'inquiry' on my credit history, I paid $ 200 up front as they would reimburse me on bills over some period time. On the day of installation, a technician cut off my cable internet service even though I asked him on the phone to be careful about it. He just left the site cutting my internet service.
