Installed a $600.00 multi port valve on my pool. Within 10 days, it froze up. When I complained he said "oh I knew that was going to happen, sand is leaking from the filter." Had he told me that up front, Iwould have waited on the valve. He didn't mention it because he wanted to cheat me out of the money. I have used him for repairs before.
