In July '08 I cancelled verizon due to verizon fluctuating my monthly bill higher and higher with no explanation. The final bill came and was paid on 12/05/08. Months later a collection called demanding I pay an already paid bill. I told them it was a mistake on Verizon's part but demanded I pay anyway. I went to my bank and got a copy of the transaction showing the bill was paid, $28.38 on 12/05/08, by electronic banking.
