1 April 2010 - Sony released an update which removes the "Other OS" menu option. I don't have much money and the reason I bought my PS3 was because it does everything in one box (Bluray player, dvd player, Games console, media streamer, computer). I use my PS3 as a linux computer daily (I am now) for web/email/office. Because Sony are removing this functionality means I need to go and buy a new PC - or not install the updat and lose other functionality.
