I have a dead pixel in the middle of my iPad screen. I went into the local Apple store and was told I needed to back up my software on iTunes but I would still lose some of my "expensive data files" that I need for work, very frustrating! I went home and backed up my iPad, then I called customers support... They told me it was covered under warranty but that would be receiving an opened, "like new iPad with refurbished parts in it"...
