My Christmas gift from Time Warner this year - NO CABLE. I was without service from December 23rd until December 26th. During this time and several conversations with supervisors, I was told different stories: Someone cut the cables; ConEd cut th cables; no one cut the cable, but there are too many people hooked to the box and we (Time Warner cable) need to slice the wires and fix it; and so on.
