I purchased renewal software yesterday, installed it according to directions, and then ran it. All indications were fine except it said my computer was at risk. No diagnostics, no explanation, nothing, just AT RISK! I called support who diagnosed a VIRUS by asking me to read off Task Manager numbers. When I asked what to do, person suggested checking EVERY SINGLE file for virus extension OR paying $99.99 to have Norton technician diagnose and fix. This was either incompetence or a scam. When I shut down my computer and logged back on, guess what? The message disappeared. No risk, no virus. Shame on Norton!!! read full review »
