I recently approached HP Live Chat for help regarding supreme lag issues on a laptop with reasonable amount of RAM (1GB) and Vista downgraded to XP. I'm quite sure that RAM isn't the issue as a much older laptop with worse processing speed and same amount of RAM can handle a game much better.
