I bought the Tomtom one New Edition for $400 less than a year ago. When I tried to access Map corrections, I got a message that the map is out of date. I contacted TomTom support and was told that I need to buy the new USA & Canada map (v7.15) for another $100 in order to use mapshare. I complained about having to spend an extra $100 ($500 in total for Tomtom one new edition). The Tomtom one 3rd Edition now costs half the price ($189.99 at BestBuy) I bought mine less than a year ago. TomTom is adamant to provide an updated map free of charge.
