All American Van Lines
The Good:
• Staff was very courteous
• Eager to right the wrongs
• Accommodating – Due to issues in our new (old) home, I contacted the manager of All American the morning of the move to ask if it would be possible to push our morning appointment back to the afternoon; once I was able to reach the manager (their phone lines were down; thankfully I had his cell phone number) he was happy to oblige and told me that the movers should arrive at our former residence late in the afternoon and would call... read full review »

Returned a Dress Form back to store I got it from and after waiting over 10 weeks now I still haven't recieved my Corporate Check. I have called several times and find it strange that it's only a message recording. So I did leave a message. I recieved a message back saying refunds at joann's calling, NO NAME of the girl speaking everytime?? What is your name lady and why are you so rude? I been shopping at JoAnn fabric and craft store for 20 years now and I am so pissed I still haven't recieved my Corporate Check. I think this store is in hope that I will forget or give up. read full review »

Meribelchalet.com
This chalet is described throughout the web site as REAL LUXURY .It is not ! We rented it for a week and found old stained mattresses, very basic bathrooms with plastic hand held showers, simple pine beds, small rooms., open storage areas.I rate the chalet as 2- 3 star and NOT real luxury. The food produced by the chef in a tiny kitchen is very good though.I have complained to the owner and recieved a very negative response that did not address my complaints.I also complained in the comments book at the chalet but noticed some pages had been torn out - I suspect my page will be torn out too !! read full review »

Enrolled and paid $125. Got receipt from Lorna Moglia Design - that I didn't know. Receipt just said "Thanks your for Payment" but gave no info on what, where, when, how much. I waited a week for class confirmation but got nothing. I lost the link to the e-flyer and class was in 3 1/2 mo. I would surely miss it with no info in my calendar. I sent query to email on the receipt saying I'd gotten nothing credible and was worried. Lorna Moglia called but was not clear that she was the business owner. All she had to do was email... read full review »
Imagistone.com
I had my kitchen countertops resurfaced by Imagistone and they spray this plastic looking coating over your existing countertops. I am not happy with the finished product. It has a grainy texture to it and is very difficult to clean juice stains out. Wish I would have had Formica installed from Home Depot or Lowe's. Would have had many more colors to choose from and it would not have the grainy texture that Imagistone resurfacing has. read full review »

I went to the Web Biz Customer site. Clicked on live chat. I was able to voice my complaint with them and got the account cancelled. I had never heard of this business until they charged my account for $39.99. I told them that tomorrow I am having that amount returned and I did not want to have anything to do with their company. They cancelled my subscription and gave me a confirm number. Hope this helps others that have been hit by this company read full review »
Sirius/ XM Radio
Sirius is a RIP OFF!! Their customer service passes you around like a hot fir cracker. They have a strict strategic sales pitch, Lifetime subscription 1st. Which makes no sense if you are smart. They want you to pay 499.99 + a music royality fee of 76.50. But a lifetime subscription doesn't transfer to another vehicle if you sell your car and if your radio breaks you have to pay to replace it. They bill your credit card automatically after you complete your intial subscription hoping that you will forget to cancel. The use homebased... read full review »

Beware of incomplete websites...and...misleading charges for websites that are not complete when advertised "as complete". Then this company charges customers to fix their own software that's useless to be advertised to the public until the fixes are completed. They have a ticket system where tickets are taken to resolve issues, then after a week the ticket number is only one increment higher...clearly indicating that they are not working any tickets at all and have no intention of fixing issues...BEWARE of this business! South Florida EBay
Jonathan Harkness, a liquor-store regulator from Washington state, came to know ``Jorge Carlos'' in late 2006, when Carlos posted a Surefire flashlight for sale on eBay using a Miami street address.
Harkness bid $90, and after an exchange of e-mails on AOL, sent Carlos a money order. But the address turned out to be a private P.O. box, the high-tech flashlight never arrived, and Harkness realized he had been ripped off.
So in early 2007, he wrote his congressman, laying out his dealings with the mysterious eBay seller from South... read full review »

Yahoo Email Account Hacking
We received this report from one of our readers.
Her account was hacked, and the scammer was using it to sending a distress email to her boyfriend asking for money.
Some quick advise to protect your email passwords:
1) Do not use the same login password for your social networking accounts and emails. We recommend that you use different passwords for each site.
2) Treat it like a bank account, only login using SSL pages (i.e. httpS://)
3) Try not to use public computer to access your primary emails (e.g. internet cafe).
4) Do not... read full review »
Chinese Shopping Site
This one worries us, and its risky to deal with them. If you find these at ebay.com etc and not from the trade portals, its risky.
1) Domain name registered in less than a month, and its setup ready to sell with a bunch of products.
2) The "About US" page does not tell anything much "About them"
3) The "Contact Us" page is not ready.
4) The "Payment info" is badly presented.
The first point is not a key factor, because everybody has the right to setup a shop within a short time period to sell stuff... read full review »

Force Buy Domains
"The OFT received complaints that Swansea-based Internet Registrations Bureau Limited, trading as Euro Web Designs, was contacting firms and claiming an unnamed third party was interested in registering a domain name similar to their business name.
IRBL helpfully offered to secure the domain name but told companies that they only had a limited period of time to do so before it would be offered to the third party.
The OFT asked IRBL to provide evidence that these third parties existed but the company was unable to do so." read full review »
Web Designs and Hosting
"In 2005, Genma Stringer Holmes, founder of Holmes Pest Control in Nashville, hired a Web designer she'd met through her church. She wanted him to create two Web sites to boost sales for her 11-employee, $500, 000 company. Holmes wasn't looking for anything particularly fancy—she just wanted an informational site about her company that would include the latest news about pest control. Two years later, she says, she's stuck with two sites that can't be updated. Since the designer registered the names himself, only... read full review »
Pigeon Drop
The pigeon drop scam is another "pay money to get money" scam, but slightly different from the 419 scams which started before the 90s. The basic tactic remains the same - the scammer lures the victim to part with his/her own cash, in order to receive a larger amount of cash. Just like those 419 and lottery scams.
In this report,
1) A scammer asked the victim if she has dropped a sealed envelope.
2) The victim said that the envelope does not belong to her.
3) Then a man (another scammer) walked past and opened the envelope to... read full review »
Match-Making Website
Does a match-making website run online lottery? It is not mentioned anywhere on the official website, so this is a confirmed scam.
However, there is no need to check the original site most of the time, because you should Never respond to a "lottery" winnings mail coming from a free email address.
Some points as a reminder:
1) Scammers could send fake emails that "appear" to come From the official website. However, you will be asked to communicate with them through another email address, which is either a free email... read full review »

This firm sold me damaged goods and then refused to accept a return because of their "policies." A quick search of the internet shows that they have a pattern of selling damaged goods to unwitting consumers. On May 24th I placed an order for a Scotsman ice maker (SCCG50M1BU 15). Toyota Of Grapevine
We drove from Texarkana to look at car this dealership had online on October 23, 2010. The dealership then proceeded to find another car of similarity to the one that sold.
